Learn how you can boost your CRS score

When it comes to Canada immigration as a permanent resident, nobody can deny or question the importance of CRS.

For those, who are new to the Canada immigration process trying to understand it, let me quickly explain what CRS really is.

CRS stands for Comprehensive Ranking System that is used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for evaluating the worth of a Canada PR applicant. IRCC is the authority that manages the Canada immigration process. As the name suggests, CRS is a system. It is a transparent and easy to understand system for all.

CRS is a point-based system that considers a number of eligibility factors and awards points to candidates for each factor.

For the success of your Canada PR application, it is important that you rank among the top candidates. Now, the question arises – how do you do rank among the top candidates?

The answer is simple – by having a high CRS score that secures you a place among the top ranking candidates in the Express Entry pool.

Now, a high CRS is ultimately what sets you apart among a huge pool of other eligible candidates. So, an average CRS score is something that most of them have, but to qualify what you or any other candidate needs is a high and competitive CRS score.

Let us now get down to the core question of this discussion – how to boost your CRS score.

There are different ways you can increase your CRS score, the top amongst them are:

High language proficiency score – For language proficiency you can earn the maximum of 160 CRS points. You must prepare well for your language test such as IELTS to secure the highest language proficiency score.

Level of education – For the education factor, you can earn the maximum of 150 CRS points. For a doctorate level degree you can earn the maximum points. However, it is not possible for most of the people to earn a doctorate level degree. Therefore, to increase your CRS score in the short term, you can complete a certificate course or diploma.

Work experience – Your work experience is another important factor in deciding the success of your Canada PR application. Work experience of 3 or more years gives a boost to your CRS score. If you have a Canadian work experience, you earn extra points. For Canadian work experience, you earn the maximum of 80 CRS points. So, you should try to add to your work experience. The more experience the better.

Provincial nomination – This is the best way of giving a major boost to your CRS score. If you are able to secure a provincial nomination under a provincial nominee program (PNP) from a Canadian province, you will earn 600 CRS points. This will increase your CRS score to a level that you will be guaranteed an ITA for Canada PR.

Arranged job offer – If you are able to secure a job offer from a Canadian employer in National Occupational Classification (NOC) category 00, then you can earn the maximum of 200 CRS points. Notably, ‘arranged job offer’ and ‘PNP nomination' both come under a broad category of 'additional factors' for which you earn the maximum of 600 CRS, not more than that.

So, you can see that these are the major ways of increasing your CRS score for the success of your Canada PR process. If you would like to know how to apply for Canada PR, dial Nationwide Visas – the best immigration consultants in Delhi.
