I was going through my games in my old PC that I had when I was little, and I saw that I had the game Bookworm Adventures Deluxe & Vol. 2, and I was completely touched by the memories of the game and I decided to get it in the USB Flash and put it in my current PC. and so I played both of them and was addicted straight away!

I finished them in 4-3 days. So I wanted to check if there were more sequels, but sadly there wasn't any more to the series. I was quite sad and disappointed and started going through games that were similar but instead I went through other games that had no association with Bookworm Adventures at all, so I figured it's a distinctive game that needs to be continued!

I went ahead on the internet and checked some forums and threads about it, and a lot of people were enjoying and wanted more! The 1 thing that amused me the most was this thread: _blog:Wikiafan12345/Bookworm_Adventures_3_Ideas It was so nostalgic to read everything and the person had a very great mind and he was so creative with the ideas!

I was fascinated that they were actually teasing another sequel, but it didn't seem to happen? Or maybe they are considering it till this day, Either way I am pumped for any updates about this game!

I'm still on the lookout for more sequels to Bookworm Adventures 2! I would even be willing to pay for them before release date. I've played the 1st two and have won them over and over again. Wish I knew how to contact the creators of that game. I would request them to make more of them or a similar game with a different title. I wouldn't mind either of them!

Any updates? And will it ever be possible for us to have a chance to purchase both bookworm adventures games again in the future? There is no trace of either game across the internet and it is so sad to see such a good game go to waste over time. Please let me know if there is a way to access them.

Bookworm is a puzzle game where you have to create words with the letter tiles in the field. Click on adjacent letters to form words and score points. The longer the words you create, the higher your score will be! There are also special tiles and bonus words. Beware of the red burning tiles, because if they reach the bottom of the screen the game ends.

Click on the letters you want to use to create a word. You can only select adjacent letters. Once you have formed the word you had in mind, click on submit and Lex the bookworm will eat the letter tiles you selected. New letters will be provided so there are always new options to explore.

In the original version, bonus words were displayed beneath Lex the bookworm starting from round 2. Forming these bonus words boosted your score. This feature is unfortunately removed from the version we currently have on our website.

Hi, I'm Tomas from SolitaireParadise.com and I would love to hear your opinion about this game, or if something is not working. Just let me know and I will do my best to look into it! Your feedback will NOT be visible for anyone except me.

Lex's adventures begin with a quest: save Cassandra the oracle, who has been kidnapped by an unknown evil. With the aid of Professor Codex's magic pen, he jumps into the books of the Great Library to search for her, defeating enemies along the way with words created from a 44 grid of letters. The longer the words, the more powerful Lex's attacks are.

As Lex progresses through each book chapter (ten per book), the monsters (in the first book, Oedipus Lex, based on Classical Mythology, with the second, Arabian Knight, of Arabian Nights and the third, Lexonomicon, of Gothic Horror) get more difficult, with a boss fight at the end of every chapter. Fortunately, Lex also becomes stronger; he occasionally levels up in HP, attack, or defense and obtains a nifty treasure at the end of every chapter with various beneficial effects. Additionally, every book has optional minigames, unlocked once Lex has completed a certain number of chapters, that can be played for prizes.

The plot also thickens the further Lex seems to get in his quest; while it's fairly linear and relatively simplistic compared to pure RPGs, each book adds one or two twists to it and the resulting plot is a bit more complex than you would expect of a game with a bookworm as the main character.

Of course, Bookworm's major appeal is the word making, and Bookworm Adventures upholds that tradition very, very much with bonus sparkly gem tiles and much better chances to piece together 10+ words. A free trial and/or purchase of the game is available here.

A sequel, Bookworm Adventures Volume 2, was released in 2009. The three books in this installment are Fractured Fairytales (which interestingly includes Alice in Wonderland), The Monkey King (based on Chinese Mythology), and Astounding Planet (based on Science Fiction). It also differs in adding companions that perform a beneficial action every four turns and rainbow tiles that function as wildcards.

Unfortunately, both games have been delisted since 2016, and it is still not exactly known why PopCap games delisted them, only claiming that the Bookworm series are retired from sales. In fact, PopCap delisted all sales related to the Bookworm series.

Bookworm Adventures is a follow-up to the word-forming computer puzzle game Bookworm from PopCap Games. Released in November 2006, Bookworm Adventures combines the "create words from sets of letters" aspect of Bookworm with several elements of a computer role-playing game. In the 2007 Interactive Achievement Awards, Bookworm Adventures won the "Downloadable Game of the Year".[1] The game also won three Zeeby awards for Best Word & Trivia Game of 2006, Best Game Design of 2006 and Best Story/Narrative of 2006.[2]

In contrast to the lower production budgets typical of most "casual games", PopCap Games spent over two and a half years and US$700,000 developing Bookworm Adventures.[3]Although the direct sales model used by the company avoids various distribution and retail fees, this still represents one of the most expensive investments in the genre to date. John Vechey, PopCap's director, indicated that this did seem to be a departure from the previous model, noting that "A couple years ago, the prevailing wisdom was that it took three guys six months and $100,000 to make a casual game. They used to be considered a low art form."[3]

Players guide Lex the bookworm (voiced by Chief Creative Officer of PopCap, Jason Kapalka) through a number of stages, battling creatures along the way (which are largely based on Greek Mythology, tales from 1001 Arabian Nights and Gothic literature, while the foes in the game's sequel are based on Fairy tales, Chinese mythology and Science fiction). Each battle consists of Lex squaring off against a given foe. Both Lex and his adversary have health meters (represented by a number of hearts), which, when depleted, signal defeat. However, unlike more traditional role-playing games where players might injure their opponents with arms or magic, enemies in Bookworm Adventures are damaged by forming words.

As in the original, words are formed from a grid of available letters. Unlike the original, the letters used to form the words need not be adjacent to one another. The longer the word which is formed, the more damage is done to opponents. Similarly, words generated using letters which are less common do more damage than those using only common letters. Each turn, players can form a single word, while enemies use one of their available attacks to injure Lex, heal themselves, or otherwise make the battle more difficult. If victorious, Lex automatically recovers all of his health between battles.

After a certain number of battles are won, a "boss monster" of increased difficulty is encountered. If players defeat the boss, they complete the stage and are rewarded with a treasure item. Treasures provide special abilities to Lex, such as a reduction in damage inflicted to him, or more damage generated from words containing certain letters. In some cases, rather than receiving a new item, an existing item is upgraded. After the player has accumulated more than three items, he or she must then choose which three items to bring along on later chapters.

There are 3 game modes of the game. The different modes are Adventure, Mini-Games and Arena. Adventure mode is a library icon. There, the player solves the mystery of the Great Library. Mini-game mode is a tent icon; players can play a mini-game between some stages of the game. The player can play all mini-games from the opening screen after defeating Book 2 (or Book 5 in the sequel) of Adventure mode, and the last is the Arena mode, where the player battles all of the bosses that Lex encountered (except for Hydra, the Sphinx and Professor Codex in the first game and Previous Lex, Skeletrox (Dance Commander) and all three phases of The Machine in the sequel). This can be played after the player defeats Book 3 (or Book 6 for the sequel) of Adventure mode. Arena is a constant battle. There is a time limit of this mode above the grid, and when it is up, the enemy attacks. The Tome of Knowledge is where the player can find all the monsters, their abilities, their 'flavor text' and the secrets that the player has unleashed. The player can open this sacred tome after defeating Book 1 (or Book 4 in the sequel) of Adventure mode. Clips and Giggles is where the comic introductions to each book and theme music of Bookworm Adventures can be found and replayed any time the player wishes. It also features commentary from PopCap Games on creating the game. Players unlock Clips and Giggles by defeating the Arena mode. It is not available in the sequel. Adventure Replay is available in the sequel only. The player can play the 3 books all over again and this mode is rather different from Adventure. One difference is that the player will level up after each chapter, and another is that the Level Up bar is replaced with a score bar. Players can also obtain badges if they do a special task. For instance, one task might be to spell 12 consecutive words that start with the same letter and another might be to spell a word with eleven or more letters. The badges have four levels; bronze, silver, gold and platinum. Players unlock this feature after defeating Adventure mode. 152ee80cbc
