Can Venlafaxine ER cause any side effects?
Venlafaxine ER is a member of the class of medications known as serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), which are commonly prescribed to treat anxiety and depression disorders. Even though it can be very helpful in controlling symptoms, it's important to be aware of any possible adverse effects that might arise while receiving treatment.
The serotonin syndrome. Serotonin syndrome is a potentially fatal condition that can arise from taking Venlafaxine ER. When Venlafaxine ER is taken with specific other medications, the chance of developing serotonin syndrome increases.
If you experience any of the following serotonin syndrome signs and symptoms, stop taking Venlafaxine ER and immediately contact your doctor or the emergency room of the closest hospital.

Signs and symptoms of severe or more abrupt cases include:
hallucinations (depicting or hearing unreal objects)
fainting
