Today, they told me to remove my macbook air from my checked baggage. Its brand new, not even opened from the shrink wrap and they told me to carry it on my carry on. They said if I still want to put it in the checked baggage, then I have to remove the battery. What? From a Macbook? Then when I went through TSA, obviously I had my new unopened macbook in my hands and when put into the conveyer for security, they rechecked it and then the agent said he needs to open the new macbook. He proceeded to completely open it, from its shrink wrap and even opening the laptop and seeing the keyboard and screen. When was this rule implemented? I'm flying from LA to HK on American Airlines and I have never heard of this rule. Have any of you? And are they even allowed to do what they did at security?

American Airline passengers are permitted to carry one piece of hand baggage onboard their flight and one personal item that must be able to fit under the seat in front of you. This would include a purse, a briefcase, a laptop bag or similar items such as a tote. Hand baggage must be no bigger than 56cm x 36cm x 23cm including handles and wheels.

It never ceases to amaze me, That if airlines spent time teaching onboard crew to be nice and attentive to passengers, that it can make for a totally great experience for the passenger at very little cost to the airline

This is fantastic review about American Airlines! I think this is outstanding airlines and their services. After reading the review I have decided to that, I will be a passenger of American Airlines for my next trip.

Several airlines offer live TV channels onboard. JetBlue is known for its partnership with DirecTV, and Southwest offers over a dozen channels of live TV on many flights. United, American and Delta have also offer the service on select planes.

If you need to work on a plane, you should be getting paid enough to fly in biz class or extra leg room at least, anyway. Otherwise if you have to work in coach you should be more worried about finding a better job than typeing on your oversized laptop.

I do not want to watch entertainment on my phone, tablet, or laptop. I want to use one those devices to be productive (or just surf the internet) but I still want to be entertained. Do you watch a movie on your laptop in your living room or do you watch a movie on a TV and use your laptop to multitask?

The flight took off from Los Angeles at 08:43 a.m. with 181 passengers and 6 crew members aboard. The unruly passenger allegedly placed a laptop by the entrance and tried to get through the reinforced barrier required on airliners following the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

The incident added to fears about flight safety after warnings of a heightened risk that terrorists could use laptops to conceal explosives. Homeland Security is considering an extension of the ban of electronic devices larger than mobile phones on flights from Europe to the U.S. similar to the one adopted in March for flights from ten Middle Eastern and North African airports.

"Each passenger flying with Delta can bring 1 carry-on bag and 1 personal item free of charge (such as a purse, laptop bag or item of similar size that will fit underneath the seat in front of you)," according to Delta. "If you plan to bring roll-aboard luggage or a large bag to store in the overhead bin," note the below size restrictions.

Unlike the other international carriers mentioned, Cathay Pacific allows all customers one piece of carry-on luggage and one additional smaller item, including handbags, laptop bags, small backpacks, camera bags and briefcases, according to its website.

In December 2018, while at O'Hare Airport, Bolden alleges she unlatched an overhead bin in a plane's first class cabin when it suddenly flew open, causing a stowed laptop to strike her in her left eye. She alleges the injury caused the loss of use of that eye and blindness.

"Every customer with a phone, tablet or laptop will be able to watch free movies and TV shows from our extensive on-board library, as well as free live television channels, all without purchasing an in-flight internet connection," the statement reads.

After the man follows cabin crew instructions to accompany them to the front of the aircraft, his girlfriend chases him down the aisle and hits him with a laptop and her fists, causing other passengers to cry out in fear.

Service on the flight was almost nonexistent. A concern I have is that some flight attendants will regard the minimal service they provide during Covid as the new normal. Prior to the pandemic, U. S. airlines had gotten flight attendants to offer much improved customer service. Not like Singapore Airlines or Cathay Pacific, but a lot better than it had been.

The two flights in first class were completely different experiences due to the difference in the time of day and the disparity in service. On the flight to DEN the crew provided proactive and friendly customer service. On the flight to MIA the crew seemed to view customers as an inconvenience. It will be interesting to see which attitude predominates as the pandemic wanes and airlines return, or should return, to pre-pandemic levels of onboard service.

Sorry about your laptop! So many flights and airline features cancelled due to COVID19, and I am sad to learn that service on board is another one; hopefully the post-pandemic will improve those conditions.

Your airline may impose limitations on the number of laptops that you can carry on to the plane. American Airlines, for example, states that you can bring up to two laptops for personal use and two spare batteries, but no more than that without special airline permission.

When you carry two or more laptops onto the plane, it helps if your backpack has multiple compartments. Such segmentation of your backpack helps keep all of the contents in place, even as your bag gets jostled around during travel, which in turn can help protect your laptop.

Knack Pack expandable backpacks have an everyday carry compartment, a travel compartment, and a dedicated laptop pocket. These pockets keep your things from moving around so that you know exactly where your laptops are in your bag, and you can easily access them at any time.

"I can fit my everything: 3 laptops, keyboard, mouse, laptop stands, all the cords, paperwork, 2 iPhones, earbuds, Airbuds, pens, hand sanitizer, and still have extra space. Best bag ever." - Dustin M

It might be tempting to avoid dealing with your second laptop by packing it in checked baggage, but we strongly advise against this. Checked baggage is rarely handled with care, and your second laptop will get tossed around and potentially damaged. When it comes to traveling with expensive pieces of equipment, you should always try to keep them with you.

"After about 18 months I can conclusively say - this is the best backpack I ever owned. I've traveled to Iceland, Africa, the Middle East, and the West Coast using the Knack Pack as my only bag. I carry my laptop and everything I need for hiking working, and formal occasions." - Dmitry R

"I use it as my personal item and the many pockets make it so easy to organize that you'll know exactly where everything is. The laptop pocket is well-padded and keeps my computer safe. I love the charger pocket at the bottom for my cords where I also store my portable battery pack." - Marissa D

I can confirm it happened. The person had a large laptop (15in), and was in an economy seat.

They put the edge of the laptop right on the seat in front of them , so when it reclined, the edge bent along with the screen.

It was finally time for my long-awaited fall getaway, kicking off with a flight in American Airlines Premium Economy. As Business Class products continue to grow ever more impressive, coach has relatively stagnated. As a result, many airlines have responded by introducing Premium Economy cabins to slot between business and coach. American kicked off the arms race among domestic carriers, launching international Premium Economy to Sao Paulo and Madrid from DFW last week. I had the privilege of traveling on the Madrid flight, the first American Airlines Premium Economy flight to Europe on a brand-new 787.Premium Economy officially goes on sale in April, 2017, but in the meantime, seats are sold as Main Cabin Extra. As mentioned in the introductory post, I redeemed 47,500 AAdvantage miles for an off-peak Economy Anytime award. Yes, yes, I know. Anytime awards are a waste of miles, especially to sit in coach. However, I had two reasons for doing so. First, I decided early on against a round-trip, and one way fares were simply too much to justify. Second, Anytime awards entitle passengers to Main Cabin Extra seating, whereas Mile Saver awards do not. e24fc04721
