CamSketch is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our mobile application (the “App”).
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
CamSektch is designed with your privacy in mind. We collect minimal data to provide and improve the service.
When you use the App, we collect certain information about your device and usage:
Camera/Media: The App may require access to your device’s camera to take photos. These images are used only to provide App’s core functionality (overlaying images onto the camera feed). They are processed locally on your device; we do not upload them to our servers.
Note: The App also allows you to select existing photos from your device gallery using the system Photo Picker. You choose which photo to select, and the App only receives that specific image.
Drawing & Images: The drawings and images you create and choose to save are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this content.
Notifications: We may ask for your permission to send you notifications. If granted we use this to provide updates, alerts, or other relevant information
Our App uses Firebase (a Google service) to help us understand App usage and improve its stability. Firebase may automatically collect certain information:
Device Information: Information such as your device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers (e.g., the Firebase installation ID).
Usage Data: How the App is accessed and used. This may include features you use, session length, screen views, and button taps (App interactions).
Crash Data: Technical details when the App stops unexpectedly so we can fix issues.
All of this data is transmitted to Google's servers over a secure connection. We do not share this data with any other company or organization; it is used solely by us to operate and improve the App.
To provide App features, the App requests the following permissions:
Camera: Required to take photos for sketching. The App will not function without this permission.
Notifications: Used to send you updates and alerts (via Firebase Cloud Messaging).
Storage: Used to save captured media to your device’s gallery.
You can change these permissions at any time through device settings.
We use the collected data to:
Provide and maintain the core camera and drawing functionality of the App.
Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and crashes.
Improve the user experience and develop new features.
Send you push notifications.
We rely on trusted third-party services to help us operate and improve the App. These services may collect and process data as described below
Google Firebase: We use Firebase Analytics to understand usage patterns and Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports. Firebase may collect device identifiers, app interactions, crash logs, and diagnostic data. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy.
Push Notifications: We use Firebase Cloud Messaging to deliver notifications. This service may collect a unique token for your device to enable message delivery.
All other features (such as loading images or storing your preferences) are handled locally on your device; no personal data is sent to external servers for these functions.
Local Storage: Any photos, or app settings you create are stored only on your device. We do not have access to this data unless you share it with us voluntarily.
Cloud Storage (Firebase): Crash logs, diagnostic, app interaction and device identifiers collected via Firebase are automatically deleted from Firebase servers within 90 days of collection, in accordance with Firebase's default data retention settings. No other user data is stored on any external server because the App does no operate its own backend infrastructure.
Security: We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to take steps to protect your own device.
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under age 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us using the information in section 9.
The App may contain links to other websites (e.g., this Privacy Policy hosted on github or google sites). We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content or practices of any third-party sites.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. You are advised to review this policy periodically.
