Tucked between the Mill Creek and I-75, Camp Washington is one of Cincinnati’s most storied and eclectic neighborhoods. It got its name from the military training camp established here during the Mexican-American War in 1846. Over the decades, Camp Washington has been home to factories, foundries, artists, and activists. A true working-class neighborhood with deep roots and a creative spirit.
Today, it’s known for its rich architectural history, community resilience, and vibrant mix of longtime residents, newcomers, and small businesses. From chili parlors to coffee shops, printmakers to sign painters, Camp Washington continues to evolve while never forgetting where it came from.
The Camp Washington Urban Revitalization Corporation (CWURC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening and preserving the unique character of Camp Washington. Through housing development, small business support, and community initiatives, CWURC works to make Camp Washington a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable neighborhood for all.
The Camp Washington Community Council is the voice of the neighborhood, bringing residents together to build community, share resources, and advocate for a better Camp Washington. From public meetings to neighborhood cleanups and events, the Council plays a key role in shaping the future of our vibrant, historic community. All are welcome to get involved!
