Welcome to Campus Crush. We built this app to help university students connect authentically while keeping their privacy firmly protected. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using Campus Crush, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Who We Are

Campus Crush is a university-only social and dating platform designed exclusively for enrolled students. We are committed to creating a safe, private, and authentic space for students to connect on campus.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Full name and age

• University email address (used for verification only)

• University and major

• Profile photo and gallery images

• Bio, interests, and relationship status

• Posts, confessions, crush notes, and spotted descriptions you create

• Messages you send to other users

• Comments and likes on posts

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

• Device type and operating system

• App usage patterns and session duration

• Crash reports and error logs

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• Your GPS location or precise geographic coordinates — we use only self-selected location tags (e.g., "Main Library")

• Your contacts or address book

• Any biometric data

• Financial information — payments are handled entirely by third-party processors

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect only for the following purposes:

• To create and manage your account

• To display your profile to other students at your university

• To facilitate posts, confessions, spotted descriptions, and the campus radar feature

• To enable direct messaging between students

• To show you content relevant to your university and interests

• To maintain the safety and integrity of the platform

• To improve app performance and fix bugs

We will NEVER use your data to:

• Sell your personal information to advertisers or third parties

• Build advertising profiles about you

• Share your identity with other users without your explicit consent

• Track your physical location

4. Anonymous Features & Privacy Controls

Campus Crush is built with privacy as a core feature. Here is how our key privacy mechanisms work:

4.1 Anonymous Posts

When you post anonymously, your name and profile are hidden from all other users. The content is attributed to "Anonymous." We store the association between your account and the post internally for safety and moderation purposes only. This association is never shared with other users.

4.2 Private Profiles

If you enable a private profile, your profile will not appear on the Discover page and other students cannot view your profile details. Only students you have directly interacted with may see limited information.

4.3 Spotted / Radar Feature

The Spotted feature uses self-selected location tags (e.g., "Main Library", "Student Centre"). We do not collect, store, or transmit your GPS coordinates at any point. Spotted posts expire automatically after a set time period and are removed from the radar.

4.4 Your Privacy Settings

You can control the following privacy settings at any time from your profile:

• Make your profile private or public

• Opt in or out of the Spotted/Radar feature

• Allow or restrict direct message requests from strangers

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

5.1 With Other Users

Information you choose to make public such as your name, photo, bio, university, major, and public posts is visible to other verified students at your university. Anonymous content is never linked to your identity in the app.

5.2 With Service Providers

We use Supabase for database and file storage services. These providers process your data only on our behalf, under strict data processing agreements, and may not use your data for any other purpose.

5.3 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public. In the case of serious safety threats or illegal activity reported through the app, we may share relevant information with law enforcement.

5.4 Business Transfers

If Campus Crush is acquired by or merged with another company, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Specifically:

• Your profile and account data is retained until you delete your account

• Spotted posts are automatically deleted after their expiry period (2 to 4 hours)

• Messages are retained until you or the other user deletes the conversation

• Anonymous posts are retained until you manually delete them from My Posts

• Likes and comments are deleted immediately when you remove them

When you delete your account, we permanently delete all your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously. Our security measures include:

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS

• Data at rest is encrypted in our Supabase database

• Row-Level Security (RLS) policies ensure users can only access data they are authorised to see

• University email verification prevents non-students from accessing the platform

• Profile images and files are stored in access-controlled Supabase Storage buckets

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to log out of shared devices.

8. Age Requirements

Campus Crush is intended for university students who are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately deactivate their account and delete their data. 9. Your Rights

You may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at lindelaniservice1@gmail.com.. We will respond within 30 days. You may also delete your account directly from the app at any time under Profile > Profile Edit > Delete Account.

10. Cookies & Tracking

The Campus Crush mobile app does not use cookies. We use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the app is used and to fix bugs. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or cross-app tracking technologies.

11. Third-Party Links & Services

Campus Crush may contain links to third-party websites or services (for example, university websites). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party services you visit.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you through a prominent in-app notice and update the effective date at the top of this document. Your continued use of Campus Crush after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
