Effective date: September 4, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and the CampTalk Team (“CampTalk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) concerning your access to and use of the CampTalk mobile application, related websites, and services (collectively, the “Service”).
Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the CampTalk Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to consent to use online services. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf. You may not use the Service if applicable law prohibits you from doing so.
You may need an account to use some or all features. You agree to provide accurate information, keep it current, and protect your sign-in credentials. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by our failure to use reasonable security measures.
Do not share passwords or verification codes. Notify us promptly at camptalk@outlook.com if you believe your account has been compromised. We may require reasonable verification before assisting with account access or deletion.
You may sign out or permanently delete your account from the in-app settings. Account deletion is irreversible. Some limited records may remain where required for legal, fraud-prevention, security, dispute-resolution, or legitimate backup purposes, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
CampTalk is designed to help users:
maintain a reusable personal Gear Locker;
create, publish, share, discover, and join camping spaces;
manage camp dates, general locations, capacity, visibility, invitations, applications, members, announcements, and selected gear;
communicate through camp chats and one-to-one conversations;
post photos, videos, captions, and other camp moments; and
keep memories organized around a completed camp.
Features may vary by country, device, app version, membership tier, permission settings, or operational availability. We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary, subject to applicable law.
CampTalk is an organization and communication tool. We do not operate campgrounds, organize trips on users’ behalf, transport participants, inspect equipment, verify routes, provide emergency services, or guarantee the identity, conduct, skills, fitness, availability, or statements of any user or host.
Outdoor activities involve risks, including weather, fire, wildlife, terrain, water, traffic, equipment failure, illness, and interaction with other people. You are responsible for evaluating a camp, complying with laws and campground rules, checking forecasts and local alerts, using suitable equipment, arranging transportation, obtaining permits, sharing plans with trusted contacts, and making your own safety decisions. Location or nearby results may be delayed, approximate, incomplete, or inaccurate and must not be used for emergency navigation.
If you face an emergency, contact local emergency services. CampTalk is not an emergency response service.
User Content includes profile information, camp details, gear information, invitations, messages, photos, videos, captions, reports, and other material you submit through the Service. You retain ownership of your User Content.
You grant CampTalk a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt for technical purposes, transmit, display, and otherwise use User Content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and provide the Service. This license ends when the content is deleted from active systems, except where continued retention is technically necessary or legally permitted.
You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit User Content and that doing so does not violate law or another person’s privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, or other rights. Obtain consent before posting identifiable images or information about other people.
Your camp’s visibility settings affect who may discover or access its content. Sharing a link, QR code, or invitation may allow recipients to access the related camp. You are responsible for choosing appropriate visibility and sharing invitations only with intended recipients.
You may not use the Service to:
threaten, harass, exploit, impersonate, stalk, or harm another person;
publish hateful, sexually exploitative, illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, or dangerously misleading material;
share another person’s private or sensitive information without permission;
infringe intellectual property or other rights;
arrange unlawful activities or promote unsafe use of fire, weapons, controlled substances, or restricted areas;
send spam, manipulate engagement, or create misleading camps or accounts;
bypass access, membership, purchase, security, blocking, or rate-limit controls;
introduce malware, probe systems, scrape the Service, or use automated means without authorization; or
use CampTalk in a way that violates applicable law or campground rules.
Camp hosts control certain settings and may approve or reject applications, publish announcements, manage members, limit camp chat participation, end or cancel a camp, or remove participants, subject to these Terms. Joining a camp does not create an employment, agency, partnership, fiduciary, or professional relationship between users or with CampTalk.
Users are responsible for their own communications and arrangements. Do not rely on another user’s statements without appropriate verification. CampTalk does not guarantee attendance, availability, compatibility, transportation, access to a campsite, or the accuracy of a camp listing.
You can report users or camps and block users through available in-app controls. We may review reports and take action we reasonably consider appropriate, including limiting visibility, removing content, restricting features, suspending accounts, or terminating access. We are not obligated to resolve private disputes between users and may not disclose enforcement details where doing so would affect privacy, security, or legal obligations.
Misuse of reporting or safety tools may itself violate these Terms. If you believe content creates an immediate risk, contact the appropriate local authorities.
CampTalk may offer optional VIP and SVIP auto-renewing subscriptions. Benefits may include increased Gear Locker capacity, support for larger camps, included camp-cover options, or other benefits shown in the app. Available plans, durations, localized prices, taxes, trials, and benefits are displayed before purchase and may change for future billing periods as permitted by Apple and applicable law.
When you confirm a subscription:
payment is charged to your Apple ID account through Apple In-App Purchase;
the subscription automatically renews unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period;
Apple may charge your account for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period;
you can manage or cancel the subscription in your Apple ID subscription settings; and
deleting CampTalk or your CampTalk account does not automatically cancel your Apple subscription.
CampTalk may also offer coins as one-time consumable purchases. Coins may be used only for eligible in-app enhancements described at the point of use, such as certain camp-creation options. Coins are not legal tender, have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash except where required by law. Lost access resulting from conduct that violates these Terms does not entitle you to a refund.
All digital purchases are processed exclusively through Apple In-App Purchase. CampTalk does not offer third-party payment methods and does not receive your full payment-card details. Purchase restoration is available for eligible non-consumable entitlements and active subscriptions; consumed coins generally cannot be restored as a new purchase.
Billing, cancellation, and refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s applicable terms and policies, except where law requires otherwise. If a verified purchase is not reflected in the Service, use Restore Purchases or contact us.
The Service, including its software, design, branding, graphics, text supplied by CampTalk, and underlying technology, is owned by or licensed to CampTalk and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, CampTalk grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for lawful, non-commercial purposes.
These Terms do not transfer ownership of CampTalk intellectual property to you. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by law or with our written permission.
The Service may rely on or link to third-party services, including Apple services, maps, hosting, media storage, analytics, notifications, and shared links. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. CampTalk is not responsible for third-party content, availability, or actions beyond what applicable law requires.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or restrict features if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk or legal exposure, misused the Service, or if suspension is necessary to protect users, CampTalk, or third parties. Where appropriate and legally required, we will provide notice or an opportunity to appeal.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including ownership, payment obligations, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute provisions—will remain effective.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” CampTalk disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that camp information, nearby results, user statements, media, or memories will always be accurate, available, or preserved.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CampTalk and its affiliates, personnel, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, opportunities, or use, arising from or related to the Service, user conduct, outdoor activities, camp attendance, or reliance on location and listing information.
Where liability cannot be excluded, CampTalk’s aggregate liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to CampTalk through the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD $100. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CampTalk and its affiliates and personnel from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from your User Content, your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights. This section does not apply where prohibited by consumer law.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the CampTalk operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless the mandatory consumer laws of your place of residence require otherwise. Before filing a formal claim, you and CampTalk agree to make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve the issue by contacting one another. Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
If you downloaded CampTalk from Apple’s App Store, you acknowledge that:
these Terms are between you and CampTalk, not Apple;
Apple is not responsible for the Service or its maintenance and support;
your license is limited to use on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules and applicable Family Sharing or volume-purchase terms;
to the extent any warranty exists and CampTalk fails to satisfy it, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price for the app, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation to the maximum extent permitted by law;
CampTalk, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims relating to the Service, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, and consumer-protection claims;
CampTalk, not Apple, is responsible for investigating and resolving third-party intellectual-property claims concerning the Service; and
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the Apple-specific provisions against you.
You must also comply with applicable third-party terms when using the Service.
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, law, safety practices, or business operations. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when required. If a material change requires consent, we will request it. Continued use after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
