About
I am a Roman Catholic, consecrated to the Virgin Mary, married to a loving wife, and father of two cherished daughters. Most of the content of this webpage is dedicated to my work as a Mathematician.
I am currently a Research Fellow in the Stochastic Fluid Dynamics group at Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS) in Pisa, Italy.
I received my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (UFJF), in Brazil. I then completed both my Master's in Computational Mathematics and Modeling and my Ph.D. in Mathematics at the Instituto de Matemática Pura e Aplicada (IMPA), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Following my doctoral studies, I held a postdoctoral position jointly in the Institut de Physique de Nice (INPHYNI) and in the Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique (INRIA) in Sophia Antipolis, from Université Côte d'Azur (UCA), France.
Research interests
Mathematical Fluid Dynamics (PDE, SPDE and numerical perspectives): incompressible flow, incompressible Navier–Stokes equations, incompressible Euler equations, finite-time singularities, low-regularity (weak) solutions, well-posedness, non-uniqueness of solutions, inviscid limit, boundary layers, stochastic dynamics, invariant measures, ergodicity, spontaneous stochasticity, scaling limits, hydrodynamics turbulence, homogeneous and isotropic turbulence, anomalous dissipation, plasma turbulence, Hasegawa–Mima equation, logarithmic lattices, shell models, toy models for fluid dynamics equations, direct numerical simulations, spectral methods, finite differences.
