What is Camp D.O.A. ( Decadent Outdoor Adventurers ) ? It’s a bunch of good friends that after going to Burning Man in 2008 and 2009 decided that participating in Burning Man as a theme camp would be the best and most satisfying way to experience Burning Man. And a great way to give back some love to our fellow citizens of Black Rock City. The main idea, started in 2010, was to have a wine and champagne bar in Black Rock City. There are a lot of bars at Burning Man. Our idea was to do things a little differently. We are a small theme camp with a small bar. We knew we could only serve so many guests for a couple of hours each day. We couldn’t do quantity, so we decided to do quality! We are only “ officially “ open 2 - 3 hours once or twice a day ( which frequently runs longer since we have too much fun with all of you ), and we have to limit the number of guests that come into the bar so we don’t get too crowded ( it’s small after all - or intimate as we like to call it ). We only serve very good wine and champagne, and we only serve in real champagne and wine glasses provided by us. In other words, we don’t have the resources to serve everybody in Black Rock City, so we choose to spoil the heck out of as many of you as we can - just like we would if you were in our own home! Because you are a special guest here and you are in our home on the Playa! Most of the wines we pour are from France and Italy. French and good domestic champagne and French Rose’, white Burgundy, and white Bordeaux round out what we are serving up for 2023, with some fun Italian wine tasting comparisons and wine tasting classes. And a few Napa cabs too. Come learn the difference between a Barbera, Chianti Classico, Vino Nobile di Montalcino and a Brunello! Education and learning can be fun and intoxicating!
