When picking up your camper, please wait in the car line and give the name of your camper(s) to the waiting staff so camper(s) can be prepared to board your vehicle. You may not drop off earlier than 8:45. You must pick up by 3:15.
For your child’s safety, no camper will be released to anyone other than her parent/guardian unless written permission is received from the parent/guardian at the start of that camp day. Any adult other than the parent/guardian must show ID before a child can be released.

Tennis shoes and socks are required. Absolutely NO HEELEYS, CROCS, OR SANDALS. Parents should apply bug repellent and sunscreen on their child BEFORE camp every day. Please send a refillable water bottle with the child’s name on it every day. Bag lunch will be required Monday – Thursday. On Friday, lunch is provided. One snack is provided daily. No electronic games, phones or other devices are allowed.
Girl Scout Membership Requirements:
All participants involved in Girl Scouts activities, girls and adults, must be a member of Girl Scouting of the USA. Membership is open to girls between the ages of 5 and 17, who make the Girl Scout Promise, and to both men and women who are 18 years or older, who accept the principles of Girl Scouts. These principles are reflected in the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
Volunteers:
Camp Camellia is run 100% by volunteers, and the number of volunteers dictates how many campers we can accept. We need your help! Helping at camp is fun for the adults, too! Adults who volunteer for the entire week will receive discounted camp prices for each registered Girl Scout camper attending Camp Camellia (50% per camper, does not include boys and peewees) and a free camp T-shirt. Discounts will be given in the form of a reimbursement at the end of camp.
If you can’t commit to the whole week, please let us know which day(s) you are available! If you volunteer for fewer days, please order a shirt at time of registration (discounted price of $5 each).
Training:
All adult volunteers and Program Aides must be trained. There will be two different training dates for your convenience; choose one to attend. An announcement will be made via email/phone as soon as date, place, and time are established. To volunteer please call the Camp Director, Mindy Creel, at 985-201-3621, or Registrar, Melissa Savage, at 713-560-8459. Please remember volunteers need to make a 100% commitment to the camp because it will determine the number of girls who can attend.
