Auditions for all performers is Saturday, June 14th 9:00-2:00. Please bring water and lunch with you. I will release you early if possible.

THE CHARACTERS
All roles are open.
ORPHEUS – Male or Female -Lyre-playing poet, gifted and naïve (Tenor/Alto with strong falsetto, range: D3-C5 (opt. Eb5))
EURYDICE – Female- A runaway, tough and vulnerable (Mezzo-Soprano, range: F#3-D5)
HADES – Male-Compulsive industrialist, boss-king of Hadestown (Bass, range: F2-C#4)
PERSEPHONE – Female - Queen of nature and the seasons, a lush (Mezzo-Soprano/Alto, range: F3-C5)
HERMES – Male or Female - Charismatic guide and storyteller, mentor to Orpheus (Tenor/Bass, range: C3-B4)
FATES – Male or Female -three to six siblings, vicious and delicious, voices in the head (Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano, Alto, range E3-D5 (Fate 1 up to Eb5)) Originally there were 3 fates. Our version will have up to 6, and yes, I would love to have some male fates.
WORKERS – Male or Female - Spirits of labor and community, a physical and choral presence (SATB)
WHAT TO PREPARE FOR AUDITIONS:
Please prepare a song in the style of the musical or character you are auditioning for. Please plan to sing 1:00-1:45 minutes of the song. Remember, we are not only listening to you sing, but also looking for your acting ability and characterization while you sing.
You will participate in a dance audition. There is nothing to prepare, but please wear/bring clothing you can move in and tennis shoes (absolutely no flip-flops, crocks, boots, heels of any kind, socks, or bare feet will be allowed)
You may be asked to sing any of the following during auditions. Please be familiar with these songs.

Fates. "Chips Are Down." This is 3-part harmony. Pick the one that feels the best (vocally) to you. There are two practice tracks for each part. The first track sings the single part so you can learn the notes. The second track is to help you practice once you have that part and will give you the other parts to sing with.
