Open to students in Grades 3-6 per teacher recommendation.
IPES will be offering students in grades 3-6 an opportunity to participate in an after school literacy club beginning November. The club will run for 5-6 weeks, focusing on STEM Literacy. Classes include Graphic Novels, Agricultural Science-Farming, Sewing, Robotics and Geography, Songwriting and more!
Students in Grade 1-3 are selected by their teacher to participate in the Lightning Squad After School Reading Tutorial Program. While students in Grade 4-5 are selected by their teacher to participate in the Theme Reads After School Reading Tutorial Program. Tutoring with Lightning Squad and Theme Reads is a web-based intervention program for struggling readers. It addresses skill development in fluency, phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Ka'imiloa Elementary will be offering a Ho'okui Elua Afterschool Literacy Tutoring Program from 2:15 pm - 3:30 pm for students in Grade 4-5. The Literacy Tutoring program will start at the beginning of the 2nd quarter.
Ka'imiloa Elementary will be offering a After school FEV Tutoring Program from 2:15 pm - 3:30 pm for students in Grade 3-6. The FEV tutoring program is an engaging 1:1 online tutoring program which individualizes instruction based on the student's needs. The program will run from October 17, 2022 to December 16, 2022.
9th grade students can be recommended by a teacher or counselor for the After School Literacy Tutoring program, which focuses on:
Reading Comprehension/Fluency
Writing
Grammar
