A club open to all Airstream owners

Leadership, Bylaws & Club Administration

The Northern Ohio Virtual Airstream (NOVA) local club officers are all volunteers. This club would not exist without good leaders. We owe a round of thanks to these great people for their time and efforts in guiding our club.

Please consider sharing your talents with the club. You are invited to talk to any of the club’s officers about serving in a leadership position. Also feel free to contact our NOVA officers with any questions or comments.

I (we) joined NOVA after meeting Larry and Lou Woodruff at a rally at Haydacy Airstream in 2018 (now owned by Mark Wahlberg). They included us in the event and invited us to tour their Airstream. It was inclusive experience that welcomed us into the NOVA family. We have met many new friends during our travel and adventures and enjoying welcoming others to experience the camaraderie of the NOVA family.

My (our) Airstream/NOVA journey started in 2018 with the purchase of a Flying Cloud 25. With no affiliate club in New Hampshire, joining NOVA seemed like a good choice. The journey continued with a move to the  "Canned Ham", one of the few AS vans in NOVA. What we love about being NOVA members is that no matter how long we are apart, the friendships just pick up where we left off.

My wife, Anne, and I started our Airstream adventures in 2013 with our 25’, 1995 Excella 1000.  In 2015 we started going to Urban Air events in Eaton Rapids, then Logan.  It was there where we met John & Suzie Couger and several other NOVA members.   Everyone always included us and made us feel welcome.  We officially joined WBCCI and NOVA in 2019 and continue to enjoy the music, campfires, and mostly the friendship of the NOVA family.

After visiting Bruce Miller for a year at Haydocy (now Wahlberg) testing trailers, I bought a 16’ Bambi, with intentions of solo traveling. My husband John got hooked, and before I knew it, we jumped to a 25’ Flying Cloud, and then a 27’ Flying Cloud, all in 3 years. A story for the campfire! A couple years ago we found a 20’, 1965 Globetrotter, and now bring whichever one is calling to us!

My Airstreaming adventure started in 2017 with my husband, Alan, in our Flying Cloud 26U. I was introduced to NOVA by Tom & Ella Brown, who, prior to Airstreaming, owned the same type of teardrop trailer my husband and I did. We tagged along on some of their campouts and decided after getting our Airstream we would join the group.

I began my Airstream adventures in August 2016 after retiring from the US Federal government. One of our first adventures was stumbling on the NOVA chili cook-off at a state park on Lake Erie. I was up early and a nice fellow named Tom Brown from NOVA came by and invited us to the campfire and coffee. Since then I’ve shared many campfires with Tom and the NOVA family.

My husband Tom and I started tent camping in the 70s and bought our first Airstream in 2010. We never thought we would embrace the “group” camping experience until we joined WBCCI and the NOVA club in 2019, and that’s when we were struck by the wonderful Airstream community and the multitude of new and interesting adventures. We even hosted Rally in the Valley in 2022 with our property as the rally site for experiencing the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Chris and I joined Airstream Club International (ACI) in 2014 and were introduced to NOVA that same year. After being an at large member for the first year, we joined NOVA in 2015. What an adventure it has been! Through NOVA we have experienced the synchronous fireflies in the Great Smokey Mountain Park, looked for Big Foot in Ohio, re-created Picket’s Charge in Gettysburg, rode the steam engine train in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, worked on a service project at Santa’s Hide-A-Way Hollow and many more adventures. NOVA provides us with an experienced knowledge base for Airstream troubleshooting as well as trip planning.

My journey with Airstream, and with camping in general, began in 2018 when my husband made his dream purchase of a new Globetrotter. What helped seal the purchase deal for me was the result of a spontaneous trip to the Columbus Airstream dealer when and where NOVA just happened to be hosting a rally. The club members were all warm and welcoming, and I will never forget the kindness of Ms. Lou Woodruff, who helped eased my mind of a future that included campgrounds.
