Effective Date: March 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how CamKit: Count, AR Ruler & 2FA ("this App", "we", or "us") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information. This App does not require account creation, and core features process data locally on your device.
1. How to Contact Us
If you have questions regarding this Privacy Policy or your personal data, please contact us at:
Email: leochen583@outlook.com
2. Collection of Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information. Depending on the features you use, we collect and process the following categories of data:
(I) Feature-Specific Information
2FA Authentication Data: Secret keys, account names, and TOTP/HOTP tokens imported or scanned via QR codes. This data is strictly stored locally on your device using hardware-backed encryption (e.g., iOS Keychain / Android Keystore) and is never automatically uploaded to our servers.
Object Counting Data: Images you capture or import from your photo gallery for automated object recognition. By default, these images are processed locally or sent temporarily to secure cloud processing endpoints solely to execute counting requests, after which temporary processing files are discarded.
AR Measurement Data: Spatial and distance values calculated during AR Ruler sessions. Measurement history is stored locally on your device.
User Feedback: Contact details and message content provided when contacting customer support.
(II) Device Permissions & Technical Information
Camera Access: Required to scan 2FA QR codes, calculate spatial measurements in AR mode, and capture items for automated counting. Camera feeds are processed in real time and are not accessed in the background.
Motion & Spatial Sensors: Access to your device’s accelerometer, gyroscope, and depth/LiDAR sensors to calculate physical dimensions for the AR Ruler feature. This sensor data is processed instantly on-device and is never stored or transmitted.
Photo Library Access: Required to save measurement photos, store count logs, or select existing images for object recognition.
Technical & Usage Data: Device model, operating system version, unique identifiers (e.g., IDFV/IDFA if authorized), IP address, crash logs, and feature usage frequency to monitor system performance and application stability.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information exclusively to:
Provide 2FA code generation, AR distance measuring, and automated item counting.
Maintain strict device-level encryption for authentication keys.
Troubleshoot software bugs, optimize AR sensor precision, and improve AI counting accuracy.
Respond to technical support inquiries and prevent security abuse.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or 2FA keys. Limited sharing occurs only under these conditions:
Service Providers: Trusted third-party vendors supplying cloud processing infrastructure or crash analytics. These partners operate under strict confidentiality agreements.
Legal Compliance: Disclosure required to fulfill valid legal obligations, subpoenas, or official government requests.
Business Transfers: Transfer of data assets in connection with any merger, acquisition, or sale of app assets, subject to user notification.
5. Your Rights and Choices
Subject to regional privacy laws (including the CCPA and state-level US regulations), you hold the following rights:
Right to Know & Access: Request details on categories of data processed.
Right to Delete: Request erasure of personal information held in server logs or cloud processing caches.
Right to Correct: Update inaccurate personal records.
Right to Non-Discrimination: Equal service treatment regardless of privacy right requests.
Because this App operates without user accounts, please contact leochen583@outlook.com with relevant device context (e.g., approximate request timestamps, device model) to assist us in identifying relevant operational logs.
6. Data Security & Storage
2FA Key Security: Authentication credentials remain restricted to your device’s secure enclave and local storage.
Local Logs: Count histories and AR dimensions stored on your device remain entirely under your control.
Cloud Processing Records: Temporary image files uploaded for cloud-assisted counting are automatically deleted or anonymized within 30 days. Technical usage logs are retained for a maximum of 12 months.
7. Children's Privacy
CamKit is not directed toward children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately to facilitate removal.
8. International Data Transfers
Temporary image processing or analytics data may be transferred to and processed on secure servers located outside your country of residence. We enforce standard contractual protections to maintain equivalent data privacy safeguards.
9. Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy as features evolve. Material changes will be highlighted via in-app notifications and reflected in the updated "Effective Date" at the top of this document.
