Mission Statement
As a teacher my mission is to create an environment that challenges and supports students academically, personally, and socially; providing a safe space for thoughtful discussion, academic debates, and conflict resolution.
My goal is to equip students with the knowledge needed to succeed academically, while also helping students grow in maturity, social skills, and personal well-being.
When I think of classroom management, I think of two things: relationships and routines. I want to build positive, professional relationships with my students as soon the school year begins. I want to know their interests; likes and dislikes; and their personalities. Once I understand these things, it will become easier for me to identify with my students, and they will trust me more once they know that they are known, seen, and cared for by me.
When I implement a new routine into my classroom, I will model it for my students, so that they know exactly what is expected of them. We will practice, practice, practice, and then we will practice some more as the year goes on! It is extremely important that my expectations are clearly communicated to them, so that everyone is on the same page for the school year.

Personality Tests and Top Five Strengths
Enneagram
9 wing 8
The 9w8 is often called "The Referee."
What this means for me in my day to day life is that I desire to have personal peace, and I also desire for others to have that same kind of peace. I want people to feel comfortable and at ease, so I will do anything to make sure people feel that way. I am confident and assertive; I can step up as a leader or I can quietly serve alongside others when it's time. This personality type is very adaptable to different roles and settings, and it is a personality type that is pretty easy to get along with.
Truity says this about the Enneagram 9w8: "The Nine wing Eight type is a Nine who shares many of the Type Eight characteristics. This type is independent, social, adaptable, and generally more assertive and direct than other Nines. Common careers include counselor, writer/editor, diplomat and social worker.

Myers Briggs
ENFP/INFP
ENFP = "The Encourager"
INFP = "The Empath"
When I took the Myers Briggs Personality Test, I was split almost 50/50 on Extrovert and Introvert. I lean a little bit on the Introvert side in the way that I need to rest, but I am energetic and personable like an Extrovert. Both of these types are very understanding of other types, and they see the good in almost everything. They are forward thinkers; very futuristic. My ENFP comes out in a lot of ways, but most apparently in the way that I externally process things. I often need to talk things through with someone trustworthy - a counselor, close friend, parent, significant other - in order to fully understand the situation myself.
Top Five Strengths

Ideation
Each of my top five strengths are located in "Relationship Building" and "Strategic Thinking." This means that my strengths will encourage and hold a team together, as well as analyzing information to inform my decisions. I am a forward thinker, and my decisions are driven by what I think is best for the team!
