Hello there. My name is Cameron Woolley, a podcast host, content creator, and collegiate esports broadcaster. I’m a junior at Iona University where I am majoring in digital media and production.
I have an ongoing role with SportsGrid as a short-form content creator. Starting in fall 2024, I was given the opportunity to share my takes and creativity on a large platform. My content is passion-driven, straight from the heart, authentic sports takes that reflect my vibrant persona in this field.
At Iona, I've hosted a weekly sports podcast during my freshman and sophomore years on WIUR, the student radio station. During my freshman year, I hosted a solo show called “Woolley Mammoth Wednesdays”. This past year, I co-hosted “Ball Knowers” a show with my co-host, Luke Dolan. Alongside this, I’ve collaborated with other student podcasts to be a part of the WIUR NFL draft special. I have also worked with ESPN to help produce Iona basketball broadcasts as both a cameraman and replay system operator.
I’m also the head broadcaster for Iona’s esports program, where I have produced streams and been an on-air broadcaster, primarily for Iona’s Rocket League games, but I have covered Overwatch 2 and Super Smash Bros Ultimate on occasion as well. That experience helped me land gigs at the MAAC esports championships in Atlantic City in 2023 and 2024, where I have been on the call for multiple professionally produced Rocket League and Super Smash Bros games with professional producers and on-air talent.
Among these, I called the last two MAAC Rocket League finals matches. At these events, I have called games alongside seasoned esports broadcasters like Vodible, Seb, Captain Atsoca, and Soysauce.
The work I’ve done in my first two years of college helped me get recommended for a grad school course in Iona’s sports communication program in the fall.
Outside of school, I’ve worked on “The Cameron Woolley Show”, my personal podcast that I’ve hosted alongside Ming Chen from AMC’s “Comic Book Men” since January 2019 back in my freshman year of high school. Since then, that show has over 200 episodes on multiple platforms and has become the most listened-to podcast on A Shared Universe’s podcast network on SoundCloud. On that show, I’ve hosted esteemed guests like 3-time Stanley Cup champion and New Jersey Devils color commentator Ken Daneyko, and Urinatingtree, a sports YouTuber with 600,000 subscribers.
When I’m on air, I’m known for the passion and energy that I bring to every single event that I’m a part of. For my play-by-play work, I base my style on the likes of Gus Johnson, Doc Emrick, Kevin Harlan, and Gary Thorne. This style has garnered praise from players, professional esports broadcasters, and producers alike.
My dream is to become an on-air talent in sports. Whether it be on TV, radio, or podcasts, it’s been my dream since I was 14 years old.
In my free time, you can find me playing my favorite video games. I'm a retired competitive Mario Kart player who won a collegiate division championship in the fall 2023 season. I’m also a die-hard New York Giants, New York Yankees, and New Jersey Devils fan.
