Effective date: May 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Camel HIIT Timer ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our Android application. By installing and using the App you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
The App is operated by Kylan. You can contact us at Kylan.Hill@gmail.com with any questions about this Policy or your data.
We built Camel HIIT Timer to be private by design. The vast majority of your data — your timers, presets, voice recordings, history, and preferences — never leaves your device. We do not run any servers that store your personal information.
Three things do involve outside parties:
Google Play Billing processes your "Remove Ads" purchase if you choose to make one.
Google AdMob serves advertisements to users who have not purchased the ad-removal upgrade.
Google Play Services (which the App depends on) is governed by Google's own privacy policy.
We do not share, sell, or send your data to other users. The App has no social, sharing, or multi-user features.
The following information is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted off your device by us:
Timers, presets, and voice recordings you create
Session history (which sessions you completed and their durations)
App preferences, including theme choice, voice timing mode, "keep screen on" preference, and a count of how many times you have started a timer (used to determine when to show an advertisement)
A flag indicating whether you have purchased the ad-removal upgrade, which is mirrored from Google Play Billing for offline use
This data is stored in the App's private storage area and is removed when you uninstall the App. We do not back it up to any cloud service operated by us. (Android system backup may include this data; that backup is governed by Google's policies and your device settings.)
We request the following Android permissions strictly for the features they enable. We do not use these permissions for any other purpose.
Permission
Why we use it
VIBRATE
Provides haptic feedback during timer transitions and cues.
RECORD_AUDIO
Lets you record short voice cues that play during your timer sessions. Recordings are saved on your device only. We do not transmit recordings off your device.
INTERNET
Required so AdMob can serve advertisements and so Google Play Billing can process purchases. The App does not contact any server we operate.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Used by Google's advertising and billing libraries to detect connectivity.
com.android.vending.BILLING
Required by Google Play Billing to process the optional "Remove Ads" purchase.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK
Allow the App to keep your timer running and play sound cues when the screen is off or you have switched to another app.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+)
Required to display the ongoing notification while a timer is running. The notification shows you the current item, time remaining, and controls (Pause / Resume / Stop).
We do not request access to your contacts, photos, location, calendar, microphone outside of voice-recording sessions you explicitly initiate, accounts, or any other personally identifying device data.
When you tap "Record" in the App, the device microphone is activated for the duration of that recording. The audio is saved as a file in the App's private storage on your device. Voice recordings:
Are stored only on your device
Are never uploaded, transmitted, or backed up to any server we operate
Can be renamed or deleted by you at any time within the App
Are removed automatically when you uninstall the App
We have no access to your voice recordings.
The App lets you choose system ringtones and notification sounds (in addition to the bundled tones included with the App). Selecting a system sound:
Reads only the metadata of the sound (its title and a content URI)
Does not transfer any audio data off your device
Is governed by your device's media access settings
If you have not purchased the "Remove Ads" upgrade, the App displays interstitial advertisements served by Google AdMob roughly once every four times you start a timer.
When AdMob is active:
Google may collect or use your device's Advertising ID, IP address, and limited device information to serve and measure advertisements
This data is processed by Google according to its own privacy practices
We (the App operator) do not receive personal information from AdMob about individual users; we only receive aggregate metrics about advertisement performance
You can read Google's policies and review your ad personalization choices here:
Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Manage your Advertising ID and ad personalization: in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Settings → Google → Ads)
You can permanently remove all advertisements at any time by purchasing the in-app "Remove Ads" upgrade, described below.
The App offers a single one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase ("Remove Ads") that disables advertising permanently for your Google account on that purchase. The transaction is processed entirely by Google Play Billing:
Your payment information (credit card, Google Pay credentials, etc.) is handled by Google. We never see, receive, or store your payment details.
We receive only a confirmation that the purchase was completed and acknowledged.
The "premium" status is mirrored locally on your device so the App knows to suppress ads. It is also reconciled with Google Play whenever the App connects to Google's billing service.
If you uninstall and reinstall the App on the same Google account, your purchase is automatically restored.
To request a refund, please use Google Play's standard refund process. Refunds are not handled by us directly.
We want to be explicit about what the App does not do:
We do not run analytics SDKs or crash reporters
We do not collect device identifiers (other than what AdMob and Google Play Billing require for their own functioning)
We do not collect your location
We do not access your contacts, calendar, photos, or files outside the App's own private directory
We do not have user accounts or logins
We do not have any sharing, social, multiplayer, or community features
We do not transmit your timers, voice recordings, or session history to anyone
The App is intended for general audiences. It is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in some jurisdictions), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the App and you have a concern, please contact us at the address above.
Because the App stores data only on your device, you control that data directly:
To delete a single voice recording, preset, or timer: use the delete option within the App
To delete all data: uninstall the App from your device. Your locally stored data is removed.
To opt out of personalized ads: change your Advertising ID settings in Android (Settings → Privacy → Ads) or purchase the "Remove Ads" upgrade
To request a copy of any data Google holds about you in connection with AdMob or Google Play: contact Google directly through their support channels
If you reside in a region with specific privacy rights (such as the EU/EEA under GDPR, the United Kingdom under UK GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have additional rights including access, correction, deletion, and portability. Because we do not operate any server-side storage of personal information, the data we could provide is limited to what the App stores on your device — which you can already access yourself. For data held by Google (advertising and billing), please contact Google.
We rely on Android's built-in app sandboxing, which prevents other apps from accessing the App's private storage. We use HTTPS for all network requests made by the third-party SDKs we include. Because we do not run servers, there is no remote database that could be breached.
No method of electronic storage is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but we do not knowingly introduce risks beyond those required for the features described above.
The App includes the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
Google AdMob — https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google Play Billing — https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google Play Services — https://policies.google.com/privacy
By using the App, you also agree to the privacy practices of these services to the extent the App relies on them.
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When we do, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this document and post the new version at the same URL. Significant changes will be announced through the App's update notes on Google Play. Continued use of the App after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have questions, concerns, or requests about this Privacy Policy or your data, please contact:
