Students WILL NOT be successful in band if they do not practice at home:
1.Students need a quiet area free from distractions to practice, and students need a music stand to hold their music.
2. Students should aim for at least 10-30 minutes every day to be successful!
3. Please take a look at this presentation I show the students : Practice at home
1. Please let me check out the instrument first. Rental instruments will be worked on a weekly basis by a repair tech.
2. If repair shops has to keep their instrument, students need to keep their mouthpiece( and reeds) so they can use a spare instrument at school.
1. If a student is not feeling well enough to play, they should bring a note from home.
2. Students are expected to follow along in their music with their instrument out during class.
1. If a student has a conflict with rehearsal or performance, they need to notify me via letter, email or in person well in advance of the event. Students that do not communicate conflicts with Mr. Puckett are expected to attend rehearsals and performances.
1. If you aren't sure about what to buy for your student, please ask me. If it's an instrument purchase, I'll be glad to meet you at the store to help you try out instruments.
1. Please work with your student to help get them proper concert attire (see below)
