Summary Report

The aim of the project was to create a car of sorts that moves using a DC motor that spins rear tires, micro servo that turns the front tires and 2-3 ultrasonic sensors which detect obstacles, giving data to Arduino, and the car's direction will be corrected.

3D printing went well and we got the parts rather early. Building the car went well and the simulation with Tinkercad worked adequately.

We had some problems with wiring, powering the motor, diode and gearwheels. First we had a led for diode so the whole thing didn’t work. After getting the right diode we realized that we hadn’t connected the ground cables correctly.

Then we had to do some testing with the motor because it wasn’t running. At this point all the leds, sensor and servo were working correctly. So we finally came to a conclusion that the gearwheels were so badly connected that the motor couldn’t move them

In the end we had a perfectly working sensor, servo, leds and motor. Only problem was the gearwheel. If the gearwheel had worked, we would have just put the power on and the car would have started moving forward, dodging objects in front of it.

Possibly we could have used a rubber band in replacement of the gearwheel and make the car run. Also we didn’t have time to make cover for the whole car which we had already planned on tinkercad.
