PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS
PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS
The Cambridge application process is lengthy and trying! CUCSA has collected testimonies from members, who share advice about what to expect from the application process, the experience of applying, and thoughts about being a student at Cambridge. We'll continue to update this page so that it includes student testimonies from a variety of courses.
If you have any more questions about applying or life at Cambridge as a Caribbean student, please contact us. We would love to hear from you!

What advice would you give to Cambridge applicants and prospective students?
For any student thinking of studying at Cambridge, no matter the subject, it's important for you to be passionate about what you are studying.
In terms of the application process, interviewers look for how interested you are in your subject. Extracurricular reading and activities or participating in events or volunteering are all things that interviewers look for in students.
As a student, you will be expected to do your own research outside of academia. Naturally, this helps with broadening your knowledge but can also introduce you to areas that you may come to enjoy more than others.
What have you enjoyed most about being part of CUCSA?
Since joining at the start of 2024, I’ve really enjoyed being a member of CUCSA. I love the sense of community and familiarity that comes with meeting other students involved with the society. It’s given me the opportunity to socialize with people over culture and experiences, rather than the usual “what subject do you do?”.
Cambridge's African Caribbean Society also has free resources on their website to support you during your time Cambridge. You can find these here.
