History and Staff

Cambridge Chinese Academy (formerly Cambridge CFT Chinese School) is a Cambridge based community group based at Chesterton Community College, Cambridge, UK since 2016. It is also the UK representive for China International Evaluation on Language Capability (CEC) Test and China Accreditation Test for Translators and Interpreters (CATTI) of China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration (中国外文局).

It was established in 2016 as a Chinese School of Cambridge Chinese Family Together (CFT) by the Chinese scholar Dr. Guofang Zhong, Ms Yan Wang and Ms Jiabi Tan. In 2019 it was indenpendent from CFT and formally named as Cambridge Chinese Academy (CCA). The aim of the group is to promote Chinese Cultures in UK by offering Chinese classes and organising Chinese cultural workshops and parties. We love pure Chinese Art and History and are passionate about sharing Chinese culture. Our team of Chinese teachers and artists has been working with many local and high-profile organisations.

In our school, you and your children can experience

· Chinese language learning: speaking, listening, reading and writing (open to children > 3 years old).

· Chinese calligraphy/painting (open to children > 3 years old).

· Chinese Tai Chi (open to all, free classes for parents and teachers)

· Chinese dance (open to children > 3 years old)

· Chinese tea ceremony (on request)

· Chinese traditional cookery (dumplings making....) (on request).

· Chinese music (on request).

· Chinese art and craft classes including making Chinese dragon and a Chinese mask for children (on

request).
