Our district has tried to create a place to have conversations through community equity forums. Each person in our community has a unique experience and it’s important to have space to talk about those experiences in making our community the best it can be. We’ve been conducting these forums over the past several years. All are welcome to attend. The participants in the forums felt it was important to share the conversations with the larger community. This website is a product of that. It is designed to house resources and welcome others to the conversation. The site contains links to websites operated by third parties. The links are provided for information only and do not constitute or imply any endorsement or monitoring by CSD.

The primary responsibility of the Camas School District is to ensure that every student is known by name, strength, and need, and graduates ready for continued learning, career, and citizenship. We believe the entire community benefits when every child succeeds: therefore we have a collective responsibility and require accountability to ensure that children of every race, national origin, language, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, socioeconomic status, socio-emotional well-being, and ability reach their full potential. Policy 3112; Procedures; Social and Political Expression Statement
I will identify and disrupt my biases and own my privilege.
I know my culture/race/ethnicity and its relationship to and impact on others.
I will disrupt deficit oriented language and/or practices toward other persons, groups, etc.
I will manage the dynamics of difference.
I am proactively learning from, about and with the communities I serve.
I embrace and leverage the beautiful differences each learner brings to educate and empower them.
I dismantle practices and policies that perpetuate oppression .
I will design experiences and spaces that promote unbounded growth and outcomes for each student.
We recognize that conversations about equity can be challenging. Our goal is to create safe places for people to talk about their experiences. If you'd like to join the conversation, please sign up below.
