Comic 1: Calvin has a fixed mindset that knowledge is something you're born with and that it's genetic. He got that idea from being praised for his set intelligence. This idea is internal, stable, and uncontrollable, meaning that Calvin has no way to improve. Calvin's teacher said that it was obvious that he did not study for the test, which did not help Calvin's learned helplessness.
Comic 2: Calvin claimed he forgot to study for his test, which was uncontrollable. Maybe he also did not want to study for the test because he feared getting in trouble for it. This internal situation still got in trouble with his teacher for not studying. It definitely did not help Calvin's reaction when his teacher started yelling at him.
Comic 3: Calvin loses hope of completing his papier-mache project. The learned helplessness comes from an uncontrollable factor in Calvin's environment that makes him act this way in the comic. Calvin's mom tells him that there is no papier-mache and that he should be doing all the work himself.
