What Are Motivational Patterns?

Motivational Patterns are methods used to determine the drive a being has to complete an action. They are categorized by intrinsic and extrinsic motivators. However, there are many other terms that fall under that umbrella.

Intrinsic Motivation

Motivation because of an action or passion rather than external factors.

Extrinsic Motivation

Motivation propelled by external rewards, such as grades or material objects.

What is Calvin's Motivational Pattern?

Some may believe that Calvin is an amotivated individual.  However, he is intrinsically motivated and passionate outside of an academic setting. In school, Calvin lacks assentive to perform tasks. Yet, he does possess a desire for improving Ms. Wormwood's methodology.  

What Do We Need To Have Motivation?

In order to possess motivation, an individual must have a sense of belonging, autonomy, and overall competence.
