Today, African Canadians have greatly shaped our nation, and have helped Canada grow and develop for many generations. Black Canadians and their communities have shaped Canada's legacy, and continue to do so today. Join Calvin Industries as we explore the societal issues that are sparking racism and racist acts; is it something to do with the individual, or is it something to do with society as a whole?
Embracing Asian Experiences

In May, we celebrate Asian-Canadians that strive to make a difference in our society. Asian Heritage Month is a time to recognize and honor the contributions of individuals from Asian backgrounds who have left a lasting impact on Canada. From trailblazing leaders to innovative artists, these individuals have shaped our cultural landscape and enriched the fabric of our nation. Yet, racism still has been problematic not just in Canada; but internationally. Join Calvin Industries in exploring the rich history behind Asian Heritage Month, and the issues that arise with racism following the COVID-19 pandemic which has struck Asian communities worldwide.
Embracing Indigenous Experiences
March 22nd, 2023 | Novel Report
Calvin Industries explores the inter-generational trauma associated with residential schools and the thousands of lives still afflicted to this date. This article investigates the story "Careening into the headlights" which investigates a system that was not designed to support Indigenous beings, and the effects of colonialism and assimilation on Indigenous people's growth and mental health. This story brings to light the issues of the intergenerational trauma of a character describing her experiences through a first-person narrative which highlights the issues of racism, and how the past has continued to impact the current generation of Indigenous tribes and communities across the nation, and across the globe.
