Site Overview

This Web site is intended to allow me to share some of my papers, articles, power point slides and videos with others who may be interested in my work. The site is still under construction, so there are some gaps in the items that I have included. I  have organized the site according to articles, power point slides and videos. Within each main folder, I have included a number of separate sub-folders which focus on specific topic areas that I have covered in recent years. Everything is downloadable.

Current Projects

I'm currently working on a project with Canada's Building Trades Unions (CBTU) as part of its Building it Green initiative. Its purpose is to develop climate literacy curriculum material for inclusion in the apprenticeship and related training programs of the construction trades. The material is intended for pre-apprentices, apprentices, working journey persons and apprenticeship instructors. Here is a link to the section of the CBTU web site that contains the key documents and videos. The site also contains the papers and studies authored by members of the academic Climate and Industry Research Team (CIRT) which I chaired. These provide the key research material on which the Builing it Green's climate curriculum modules have been based. 

I am also doing research on a major BC construction trades' initiative, BC Infrastructure Benefits, a government corporation which directly employs the construction workforce on a dozen major public infrastructure corporations. This is a unique and very innovative approach to supporting apprenticeships and opening the industry to a more diverse workforce.
