WOMEN EMPOWERED

Cal Poly Women Empowered exists to be a welcoming space for folks who are passionate about feminist issues to collaborate with an educational and social focus. Although this is a club centered around feminist topics, all Cal Poly students are welcome to join. We will use our platform as university students to educate ourselves and our peers to advocate for women’s rights in our community and the world, starting small with community engagement with a focus on education.

We acknowledge that the land on which Cal Poly sits carries the heritage and culture of the Indigenous People of San Luis Obispo County, the yak titʸu titʸu yak tiłhini, Northern Chumash tribe. We honor the Indigenous People’s connection to these territories and respect the land on which we gather. While Land Acknowledgement is an important starting point, ongoing and consistent action to support Indigenous communities is critical. Being an indigenous ally is an ongoing and life-long process.
