1. Overview

CaloriTrack is a calorie and nutrition tracking app that stores all personal health data locally on your device. While food logs, weight history, goals, and photos are kept entirely offline and under your control, the App uses a limited cloud connection to manage subscription status and prevent abuse of the free trial system.

2. VIP Code Validation (Firebase)

To check VIP codes, CaloriTrack uses Firebase Remote Config and Firebase Analytics.

When you enter a VIP code, the App:

• Checks the code against our server to unlock premium features

• Logs when a code is entered to confirm successful activation

• Technical ID: Firebase Analytics may use a technical ID from your phone (Advertising ID) to help the system recognize the activation on your device

We do not collect your email, your name, or any other personal information.

3. Camera and Photos

CaloriTrack uses the camera for two purposes:

• Barcode scanner: Used only when you explicitly choose to scan a food product barcode. No image is stored or transmitted — only the resulting barcode number is used to look up nutritional data

• Product and recipe photos: Used only when you explicitly choose to photograph a custom food product or recipe you have created. Photos are saved exclusively to your device's private local storage, compressed to a maximum of 512 pixels, and never uploaded to our servers

You may also choose a photo from your device's gallery to attach to a custom product or recipe. The App accesses your gallery only at the moment you make this selection.

All photo processing (including EXIF rotation correction) happens locally on your device.

4. Data Storage and Backups

CaloriTrack stores all personal data locally on your device.

• Health Data: Food logs, body weight, calorie goals, workout entries, and personal profile information are saved exclusively to your device's local storage

• Photos: Images attached to custom products and recipes are stored in the App's private storage folder on your device

• Backup Feature: The "Backup" function creates a local file containing your data — including any attached photos encoded within the file — saved to a location you choose on your device. It does not upload your data to the cloud

• Your health data and photos are never uploaded to our servers

5. Data Collection and Sharing

• Health Data: The App does not collect, upload, share, or view your food logs, weight, photos, or any other personal information

• Food Search: When you search for food products, nutritional data is fetched from the Open Food Facts public database. Only your search query is transmitted — no personal information is included

• System Data: Limited technical data is shared with Google Firebase for app functionality and subscription/VIP system management

• Purchases: Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment information

• We do not share your data with advertisers or any other third parties for marketing purposes

Anonymous usage events are collected through Firebase Analytics to understand app usage and improve the service, containing no personally identifiable information.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

• Local Data: All health data, photos, and settings stored on your device — including your free trial start date — are removed when deleted manually or upon app uninstallation

• VIP Codes: Valid VIP codes are stored in Firebase Remote Config. No information about which device or person used a code is collected or retained

7. Permissions Explanation

CaloriTrack requests the following permissions:

• Camera: To scan food product barcodes and to photograph custom food products and recipes

• Internet/Network: Used to fetch nutritional data from Open Food Facts, and to communicate with Firebase for license/trial verification and Google Play for subscription management

• Notifications: To send optional daily reminders to log your meals (can be disabled in device settings)

8. Children's Privacy

CaloriTrack is not specifically designed for children. The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents who believe their child has provided personal information should contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in features or legal obligations. Updates will be posted with a revised "Effective Date."
