This Usage Policy explains what CalorieLogger is for, what it can and cannot do, and how it is designed to protect the privacy of your personal food and health data. Please read it alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers the technical details of data handling. This page covers the intent and responsible use of the app.
CalorieLogger is a personal tool to help you track your daily calorie and macronutrient intake, water intake, supplement adherence, and weight trend over time. It is meant to build awareness of your eating habits and give you a simple, private log you can refer back to.
CalorieLogger is not:
A medical device
A diagnostic tool
A substitute for professional nutrition, medical, or psychological advice
A guarantee of any specific health, weight, or fitness outcome
All calorie counts, macronutrient values, calorie targets, goal-timeline projections, and meal suggestions shown in this app are estimates, generated from:
General nutrition data (bundled food catalog, or product data pulled from the public Open Food Facts database for barcode scans)
Standard population-level formulas (e.g. Mifflin-St Jeor for BMR, standard activity multipliers for TDEE)
Whatever quantities and food items you choose to log
These estimates may not be accurate for your specific body, metabolism, medical history, or the exact food you actually ate. Small errors are expected and normal in any calorie-tracking method — packaged food labels themselves carry legal margins of error, homemade food varies by recipe and portion, and formulas like BMR/TDEE are statistical averages, not measurements of you individually.
Do not treat any number in this app as medically precise. Use it as a helpful guide and habit-tracking aid, not as ground truth.
Your food habits, weight, and body data are personal. CalorieLogger is built, from the ground up, on a simple principle: what you log is yours, and it stays on your device.
Specifically:
CalorieLogger has no user accounts, no login, and no central server. There is nothing for anyone — including SGKS Labs — to "peek into." Nobody, including us, can see what you eat, how much you weigh, or how you're progressing toward your goals.
Your food diary, weight history, supplement log, water log, and goals are stored only in a local database on your own phone. They are never uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere by default.
Nothing about your eating habits, weight, or health goals is ever sold, shared, or shown to advertisers, analytics companies, or any third party.
The only two situations where the app talks to the internet at all are: (a) showing you ads and processing an optional one-time "Remove Ads" purchase, neither of which involves your food or health data, and (b) an optional barcode scan, where only the barcode number is sent to the public Open Food Facts database to look up a product's nutrition facts — never your name, your log, or anything else about you.
There is no feature, anywhere in this app, that shares your logged data with friends, family, social media, or any other person unless you personally and explicitly generate a shareable image (e.g. a milestone card) and choose to send it yourself.
In short: no cloud sync of your food diary, no silent data collection, no one "checking in" on what you eat. Full technical detail on data handling is in the separate Privacy Policy linked above.
Because CalorieLogger is private by design, you're free to log exactly and honestly what you eat, without worrying about judgment, oversight, or a data leak. Honest logging is what makes any tracking tool actually useful. The benefits of consistent, honest tracking include:
Building real awareness of portion sizes and eating patterns over time
Spotting simple, correctable trends (e.g. weekday vs. weekend habits, protein consistently falling short)
Making steady, gradual progress toward a goal weight, muscle gain, or maintenance easier to see and stick with
Building supportive daily habits — water intake, supplement adherence, and regular weigh-ins — alongside food logging
Having a private, judgment-free record you can revisit, rather than relying on memory alone
Tracking works best as a feedback tool, not a strict rulebook. Occasional inaccurate entries, missed days, or approximate portions are completely normal and do not undo the value of tracking over weeks and months.
CalorieLogger is a general-purpose tracking tool. It does not know your medical history, your lab results, your medications, your allergies, or any diagnosed condition you may have.
You should always make your final decisions about diet, calorie targets, weight goals, and exercise in consultation with a qualified dietician, nutritionist, or doctor — not solely based on numbers generated by this app. This is especially important if you have, or suspect you may have:
Diabetes or any blood sugar management condition
Heart disease, high blood pressure, or kidney disease
A history of disordered eating or an unhealthy relationship with food or body image
Thyroid or other hormonal/metabolic conditions
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Any condition requiring a medically prescribed or restricted diet
Are logging for or with a child, elderly, or otherwise vulnerable person
If tracking calories ever starts to feel stressful, obsessive, or harmful to your relationship with food, please stop and speak with a healthcare professional. This app is meant to support healthy awareness, not to encourage restrictive or anxious behavior around eating.
Suggested meal ideas, calorie targets, and macro splits shown in the app are starting points for a conversation with a professional, not prescriptions.
Because everything is stored locally on your device:
You can review, edit, or delete any logged entry, custom food, or supplement at any time.
Uninstalling the app removes its local data from your device (standard Android behavior).
There is currently no cloud backup by default — if you uninstall without backing up, locally stored history is not recoverable by us, because we never had a copy of it in the first place. (This is the trade-off of true local-only privacy.)
We may update this Usage Policy as the app evolves (for example, if an optional cloud backup feature is added in the future). Any such change affecting how your data is handled will also be reflected in the Privacy Policy. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the current version of this policy.
Questions, feedback, or concerns about this policy or the app in general are welcome.
