1. INTRODUCTION
NutriPulse ("we", "our", or "us") is a nutrition and fitness tracking application for Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app processes, how it is used, and what choices you have.
By using NutriPulse, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
2. SUMMARY
- NutriPulse works fully offline — no account or internet connection is required for core features.
- All your data is stored locally on your device only.
- We do not collect, sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing.
- You can delete all your data at any time from within the app.
3. INFORMATION WE PROCESS
NutriPulse stores the following information on your device:
3.1 Profile & Health-Related Information
During onboarding and profile setup, you may provide:
- Gender
- Age
- Height
- Weight
- Weight goal (lose, maintain, or gain)
- Activity level
- Macronutrient ratio preferences (carbohydrates, protein, fat)
This information is used to calculate your daily calorie and macro targets.
3.2 Nutrition & Activity Data
When you use the app, you may log:
- Meal names, calories, serving size, meal type (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks)
- Macronutrient values (carbs, protein, fat) associated with meals
- Water intake (number of glasses)
- Exercise name, duration, and calories burned
- Date and time of each log entry
3.3 App Preferences
- Onboarding completion status
- App settings and preferences stored locally
3.4 Information We Do NOT Collect
NutriPulse does not collect:
- Name, email address, or phone number (unless you contact us voluntarily)
- Precise location (GPS)
- Photos, camera data, or microphone data
- Contacts or call logs
- Payment or financial information
- Device identifiers for tracking or advertising
- Analytics or crash reporting data sent to our servers
4. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
Information stored on your device is used only to:
- Calculate personalized calorie and macro goals
- Display your daily nutrition, hydration, and exercise progress
- Show meal history by date
- Provide built-in food search from the app's offline food database
- Save your preferences between app sessions
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
5. DATA STORAGE & SECURITY
- All data is stored locally using Android SharedPreferences and SQLite (Room database) on your device.
- Cloud backup is disabled (allowBackup = false) to reduce the risk of your health data being backed up to cloud services.
- Data is not transmitted to our servers because NutriPulse does not require a network connection to operate.
- No user account or password system exists in the app.
While we take reasonable measures to protect data on your device, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your device secure (screen lock, etc.).
6. DATA SHARING & THIRD PARTIES
We do not share your personal or health-related data with third parties.
The app may open external links or system dialogs only when you choose to:
- Rate the app on Google Play
- Share the app via your device's share menu
- View our Privacy Policy or Terms of Service in your browser
These actions are initiated by you and may be subject to the privacy policies of Google or your chosen sharing platform.
NutriPulse does not integrate third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or social login services.
7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
NutriPulse is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us at support@nutripulse.app and we will assist with deletion instructions.
8. YOUR RIGHTS & CHOICES
You have full control over your data:
Delete All Data
Go to Settings → Delete All Data to permanently remove your profile, meals, exercises, water logs, and all app preferences from your device. This action cannot be undone.
Edit Profile
Go to Settings → Edit Profile to update your health profile by going through setup again. Your logged meals and history will be kept unless you delete them separately.
Uninstall the App
Uninstalling NutriPulse from your device removes the app and its locally stored data from your device (subject to your device's operating system behavior).
Data Portability
The app does not currently offer automated data export. All data remains on your device under your control.
9. PERMISSIONS
NutriPulse does not request sensitive permissions such as:
- Internet (for core app functionality)
- Location
- Camera
- Microphone
- Contacts
- Storage (for external file access)
The app functions without requiring access to your personal accounts or device sensors.
10. HEALTH & MEDICAL DISCLAIMER
NutriPulse is a general wellness and nutrition tracking tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Calorie and macro calculations are estimates based on formulas and information you provide. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional or registered dietitian before making significant changes to your diet or exercise routine, especially if you have a medical condition.
11. INTERNATIONAL USERS
NutriPulse stores all data locally on your device. Because no data is transmitted to our servers, cross-border data transfers by us do not occur. If you use device features (such as sharing or opening Google Play), those services may process data under their own policies.
12. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
We encourage you to review this page periodically.
