Photos: When you use the camera or gallery feature to scan food, photos are temporarily processed by our AI service (Google Gemini) to analyze nutritional content
Nutritional Data: Information about foods you log including names, calories, and macro nutrients
Timestamps: Date and time information for when meals are logged
All your meal history and nutritional data is stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences
Food photos are saved to your device's local storage
No data is uploaded to our servers or cloud storage

When you take or select a photo of food:
The image is sent to Google's Gemini AI API for analysis

All saved meal entries are stored exclusively on your device

Data persists only on your device unless you uninstall the app
We use Google's Gemini AI service to analyze food photos and provide nutritional estimates. When using this feature:

Photo Storage: You can choose not to save photos with meal entries
Calorie Counter is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through our app, please contact us immediately.
Meal History: Stored indefinitely on your device until you delete entries or uninstall the app
Photos: Stored locally with meal entries until deleted
AI Processing: Photos sent to Gemini API are not retained by us after analysis
