This Privacy Policy describes how Light Source Labs ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the CalmScreen mobile application for Android (the "App"). 

To provide core functionality, the App interacts with your device's technical identifiers. This is primarily handled through Google Play Services to manage app entitlements (verifying if you have purchased the premium version or are within a trial period). 

We use the minimal information processed for the following purposes: 

• To provide and maintain the App's screen filtering and focus features. 

• To manage and verify premium feature entitlements and trial periods. 

• To respond to user inquiries and provide technical support. 

• To ensure compliance with the Google Play Store policies 

Sensitive configuration data, such as your Parental PIN and custom ARGB filter settings, are stored locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences. This data is not uploaded to our servers and remains under your control. 

CalmScreen requires specific advanced system capabilities to provide core focus and digital well-being features. We process all operations locally on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data, screen content, or usage information through these permissions.

• System Overlay Permission (System Alert Window): Required solely to display visual filters and minimalist blocking interfaces over distracting applications during your active focus sessions.

• Usage Access Permission (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): Required solely to detect when selected distracting applications are opened in the foreground, enabling the "App Curfew" feature to automatically apply visual filters and track usage limits. This check is processed entirely locally on your device; no app usage history, list of apps, or browsing data is ever recorded, stored, or transmitted.

• Notification Permission (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used locally to display a persistent, interactive notification control panel allowing you to toggle or turn off active visual filters. No alert data is sent to external servers.

• Foreground Service Permission: Required to keep the screen filter active in the background and display the persistent control panel notification, ensuring the filter is not unexpectedly terminated by the system.

• Receive Boot Completed Permission: Used to automatically restore active screen filters and scheduled curfew times when your device is restarted or powered on.

• Schedule Exact Alarm Permission: Used to trigger automated schedules (such as bedtime or study hours filters) at the exact time you specify.

We utilize Google Play Services to facilitate in-app purchases and core app functionality. These third parties may collect information as described in their own privacy policies. 

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect the information we process. However, please remember that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. 

CalmScreen includes parental control features (PIN-lock). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately. 

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the "Effective Date" at the top.
