Survey of Machine Translation: Past, Present, and Future

Bachelor of Arts - Multidisciplinary Studies

In this Interdisciplinary program, I studied English and Asian Studies in a way that considered the way that these disciplines interact, cross, and rely on one another. My studies were optimized for a career in video game research, production, and localization. My capstone presentation dived into machine translation and its capabilities when applied to literary translation (books, graphic novels, games, and other media) and was written from a primarily localization-focused lens. While at UNLV, I studied under Dr. Amy Green whose studies in narrative analysis were highly impactful on my approach to game design.

Skills:

I am seeking a career in the video game industry; I am confident that I will be able to put my skills, education, and passion to work in a variety of roles (Production, Localization, & QA). My background is wide-reaching, but that only makes me more prepared to face this career head-on and with gusto! I am organized, efficient, easy to get along with, and most importantly, eager to work in an entertainment industry (TV, Film & Video Games). So let's get together and make an amazing multi-media experience!
