Things to Consider

When you first choose your puppy, make sure you find a breeder who has socialized your puppy. A puppy that is raised in a home with its mother and litter mates would be best. You then need to bond with your puppy before you start taking them everywhere where they will experience countless new smells and sights. Make sure they feel safe with you. Remember, they have just been taken away from their home, their mother, and their litter mates - everything that was familiar to them. Give them a while to adjust to you and their new surroundings. Also, remember that vaccinations are not complete at this early age so limit your visits to safe areas until they have completed their puppy series of vaccinations.
