Fellow Rocky Mountain Region Members,

Summer is here! COVID restrictions are lessening, which means life as we knew it is sort of returning. Hopefully you're doing well, families are safe and healthy, and activities are happening again.

As far as our hobby is concerned, train shows are happening again! The Region mini-convention in Pueblo is happening in September. Evanston, WY train show is a go in August. Free-mo HO and Free-mo N are happening mid-August in Evanston (these are really big get-togethers with people bringing their modules from all over the country, and a couple from out of the U.S., too). August seems to be the kick-off month to start things happening again!

Earlier this Spring, I sent out a request for each division Superintendent to nominate someone in their division who has provided service/dedication to that division above and beyond the call of duty. These nominations were to select a person for the Regional President's Service Award, presented by the NMRA National President, Pete Magoun. Only 3 nominations were returned, and one was chosen and sent to Pete for national recognition.

I believe we have, in each division, people who daily go above and beyond the call for service to their divisions. I believe that those individuals should be recognized, first from their division and then by the Region. Division Supers, if you like this idea, let me know - email or even call me. A little pat on the back to say thanks goes a long way! Let me know by mid-August, and we can get the ball rolling on this.

That's about all the room I have for this edition. Enjoy the summer- have a great one!
