Have you ever just sat back and wondered why the start of a new year is so invigorating?  No, neither have I.  Just thought I’d start a bit different this time.  Really, how was your holiday season?  My Christmas started with the birth of my first great-granddaughter, born on Dec. 20 - gorgeous is an understatement!

So much is going on in 2024 . . .

Train shows, there are going to be lots of them . . .

Regional Convention, kind of a new idea on this year's version in SLC in June.  Don’t know how it will turn out, but nobody should leave hungry (details to follow)!

Elections at our next Board of Directors meeting - a new president, vice president, secretary, and 3 new board positions to fill.

The Region has at least 2 new Master Model Railroaders,  #250 &#252,  Martin Pirnat and Kevin Anderson.  Also in the Region, a few people are getting very close!

As we go forward into the New Year, let's make it a point to welcome new members in to  the NMRA.  Let's also make it a point for those that have lost interest to bring them back - I really am feeling the need to keep all the members we have.  They are our friends, our fellow hobbyists - we have a common interest with them, we like trains.  This hobby has so many different hobbies under one roof - let's exploit that part of the hobby.  Get someone else interested in something within the hobby.

I have 35 feet of track I want to get down by Friday, then try and get most of it ballasted.  It's not the footage, it’s the time it takes to ballast -  that takes the most time for me.  But, tracks looks really great when its done, so that’s where I am heading .

Take time to enjoy our hobby, be safe and take care of each other.
