Science is important for many reasons. My mantra for years has been "Science is Everything," because I believe it truly is. Science is the driving factor that makes life possible, and I believe understanding this is the first step to becoming a logical, reasonable thinker. Understanding that everything can be "a science" will help my students build and expand their comprehension on both everyday topics, such as gravity or the weather, as well as more advanced topics, such as polarity's effect on molecule interactions.
My students will leave my class with the ability to use deductive reasoning, logical thinking, and data gathering (just to name a few) in order to make well-informed conclusions about not only scientific subjects, but also real-world problems and topics. See the syllabus for an overview of the topics covered in class.
