Selection Process

CALESS decided to develop a structured and fair system of how the final (1) recipient will be chosen. This is the best way of selecting the final recipient without any bias opinions.

    • First: CALESS Members will nominate who they believe has achieved outstanding accomplishments throughout their college career and within CALESS.

    • Second: CALESS Officers will choose the top three nominees who have fulfilled all requirements (paid CALESS member & current UC Davis student) and who we believe achieved accomplishments that adequately aligns with one or all of three CALESS Pillars- Professional, Academics, and Community.

      • A nominee who adequately demonstrates all three pillars of CALESS, (Academics, Professionalism, and Community), will have a better chance of receiving the award.

      • Officers will not be choosing nominees primarily by how many nominations the recipient received but rather by the recipient's accomplishments and achievements.

    • Last: From the list of the top three nominees, the CALESS Leader of the Quarter COMMITTEE (no officers) will choose the final recipient for this award.
