The Advancing Diversity in Aging Research (ADAR) program aims to increase the diversity of undergraduate students that pursue advanced degrees and research careers in aging-related areas.
Eligibility:
Be a member of BUSP and belong to a group that is underrepresented in the biomedical, clinical, behavioral and social sciences.
Cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher
Are able to commit 12 consecutive months to training, starting in summer session 1 after freshman year
Have U.S. citizenship or permanent U.S. residency
Obligations:
commit 12 months to the program
engage in research at least 10 hours per week during the academic year
attend all regularly scheduled meetings, program workshops and functions
fully participate in the ADAR/BUSP curriculum
meet regularly with the ADAR adviser
maintain competitive GPA
actively engage in their research lab, attend lab meetings etc

The Biology Undergraduate Scholars Program (BUSP) is an undergraduate research program that caters to students who have an interest in research in Biology (mainly for incoming freshman)

California Alliance for Minority Participation (CAMP) is a program that helps retain students in STEM fields as well as facilitate their transition to graduate programs. There are two paths a student in this program can take:
CAMP Scholar: Receive stipend to do research during summer and/or during school year
CAMP Members: Participate in CAMP activities and workshops but do not receive the stipend
Eligibility:
Be African American, Chicano, Latino, Native American, and Non-Filipino-Pacific Islander. Your inclusion in one of these groups is based on the ethnic identity you reported to UC Davis at time of admission.
Be a declared Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major
Be a full-time second-year, or rising third, fourth, or fifth year UC Davis student in good academic standing (transfer students currently at UC Davis are encouraged to apply)
Have and maintain at least a 2.70 UC cumulative GPA
Be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Hugh Edmondson Research Internship
The Edmondson Summer Internship Program is open to undergraduate college students from the Unites States. The internship program offers research opportunities under the supervision and mentorship of pathology faculty in various pathology laboratories located at the UC Davis campus or at the medical center/health sciences campus in Sacramento.
Eligibility:
Demonstrate a strong interest and motivation in research or a career in the health sciences such as clinical laboratory scientist, cytotechnologist, biomedical scientist, physician, or physician-scientist

The Mentorships for Undergraduate Research in Agriculture, Letters and Science (MURALS) is a two quarter program that allows students to partake in research through a project by a faculty member or an independent project the student wants to pursue with the consultation of a faculty member.
Mentorships for Undergraduate Research Participants in the Physical and Mathematical Sciences (MURRPS) is a program that aids students in physical and mathematical Sciences receive experience in their field through research and mentorship opportunities.
Eligibility:
Be a first generation college student (neither parent achieving a BA or BS)
Must be a declared MPS major

Educationally and/or economically disadvantaged

Seasoned UC Davis sophomore or rising junior standing (transfer students currently at UC Davis are encouraged to apply). Since this is a two-year program, UC LEADS scholars will need to be available to spend one summer performing research at UC Davis and then a second summer performing research at another UC campus.
