Privacy Policy for CALE

CALE (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a calorie-tracking mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use CALE, we may process:
• Account information — email address and authentication details when you sign up with email/password or Google Sign-In
• Profile & health-related inputs you provide — such as weight, height, age, gender, activity level, goals, and calorie targets
• App usage data you create — meal/calorie logs, custom foods, weight check-ins, and reminder preferences
• Device storage — local data stored on your device so the app can work offline
We do not sell your personal information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
• Create and manage your account
• Calculate and display your calorie targets and progress
• Sync your data when you are signed in
• Provide features such as history, reminders, and the home-screen widget
• Improve reliability and fix issues
3. Local Storage & Sync
CALE is designed to work offline-first. Your logs and profile are stored on your device. When you are signed in and online, data may sync to our backend (Supabase) so it can be restored on the same account.
4. Authentication Providers
If you sign in with Google, Google’s authentication services process your sign-in. Please also review Google’s privacy policy for how Google handles account data.
5. Data Sharing
We do not share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing.
We may use infrastructure providers (such as cloud hosting/auth) solely to operate the app. Access to your synced data is restricted to your account.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and synced data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete associated account data from our systems as described on our Account Deletion page.
Local data on your device is removed when you sign out or delete your account from within the app (or when you uninstall the app).
7. Children’s Privacy
CALE is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
9. Your Choices
You can:
• Update profile and goal information in the app
• Sign out at any time
• Delete your account and associated data from Profile → Delete account
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above will be updated when changes are made. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
