Welcome to the Calendar: Events & Reminders ("App"), developed by Daily Tools app ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our App or related services ("Services"). It also outlines your rights under applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), the Brazilian General Data Protection Law ("LGPD"), and Google Play policies. Our goal is to be transparent about our data practices and ensure your privacy is protected.
This Privacy Policy is an integral part of our End User License Agreement ("EULA"). Any capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the EULA.
We collect specific types of information to provide and improve the App’s functionality. Below are the details of what we collect and why:
Collected Data: The App allows you to manage events. All event-related data, including event titles, descriptions, dates, times, reminders, and recurrence settings, are stored locally on your device. This data is not uploaded to our servers or shared with third parties, ensuring your event information remains private.
App Usage Data: We collect anonymized usage data, such as which features you use and how often, to improve the App’s performance and user experience. This data is collected through third-party services like Firebase Analytics and does not personally identify you.
Device Information: We may collect information about your device, such as the hardware model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers. This helps us optimize the App’s performance and ensure compatibility across different devices.
Your data’s security is a priority for us:
Local Storage: All event-related data is stored locally on your device. We do not upload or store this data on external servers, giving you full control over your information.
Anonymized Analytics: Any analytics data collected through third-party services (e.g., Firebase Analytics) is anonymized to prevent identification.
Security Measures: We use industry-standard security practices, including encryption and regular security audits, to protect your data. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we encourage you to keep your device secure.
The App requires certain permissions to function effectively. Below is a list of permissions and their purposes:
Notification Access (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS): This permission allows the App to send notifications for event reminders or incoming messages, enhancing your experience by keeping you informed.
Network Access (android.permission.INTERNET, android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): These permissions are used for downloading App updates, serving advertisements, and enabling third-party services like Google AdMob and Firebase Analytics.
Wake Lock (android.permission.WAKE_LOCK): This permission allows the App to wake your device when the screen is off to display event notifications or reminders.
Boot Completed (android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): This permission enables the App to detect when your device restarts, allowing it to reschedule reminders or events if you’ve set them.
Schedule and Use Exact Alarm (android.permission.SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, android.permission.USE_EXACT_ALARM): These permissions allow the App to trigger alarms at the exact times set for your events or reminders.
We use the following third-party libraries and SDKs to enhance the App’s functionality:
Firebase Analytics: Collects anonymized data on feature usage and crash reports to help us improve the App’s performance. This data does not personally identify you.
Room Db (androidx.room:room): Manages and stores event data locally on your device. No data is transmitted to third parties.
SDP (com.intuit.sdp:sdp-android): Ensures responsive and flexible user interfaces across various device sizes and ratios.
Glide (com.github.bumptech.glide:glide): Efficiently displays images or media within the App.
EventBus (org.greenrobot:eventbus): Facilitates efficient communication of events and data within the App.
ShadowView (com.github.bauermateus:shadow-view): Adds custom colors and elevation to views for a better user interface.
Multidex (androidx.multidex:multidex): Allows the App to support more than 65,536 method references, ensuring compatibility with complex features.
Google Gson (com.google.code.gson:gson): Converts objects to JSON format and vice versa for efficient data handling.
Google Calendar API (com.google.apis:google-api-services-calendar): Loads public holiday data for selected countries.
Google HTTP Client (com.google.http-client:google-http-client): Supports API calls for the Google Calendar API.
We handle data retention as follows:
Local Data: All event-related data is stored locally on your device. Deleting the App will remove all locally stored data from your device.
Third-Party Data: Any anonymized data collected by third-party services (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Google AdMob) is subject to their respective retention policies. We do not control these periods but ensure shared data is anonymized.
