Preaching has been an enjoyable way for me to work out my theology for daily living. For me, preaching is a communicative act led by the Holy Spirit. The ultimate communicative act of God was in the Word, Jesus Christ. That means I think preaching is derived from the revelation of God found in the canonized Scriptures. The text then is the means that most effectively promotes an experience of God’s accommodating revelation that culminates in Jesus. That is why I attempt to be as expositional as possible which means getting as close to the author's intent as possible.
When I preach, I am asking the listener to encounter God through Scripture. Preaching is a dynamic speech act that results in an encounter with Jesus Christ. The act of listening then is an experience with the Triune God. I hope these messages help you participate in the life and grace of Christ.
