In 2015, according to the Colorado School of Public Health, an observational study from 2005-2006 then again from 2013-2014 found that 68.8% of all male soccer players and 51.3% of all female soccer players in high school across America suffered concussions from player-to-player collisions. This issue, according to Dr. Dawn R. Cornstock, is very dangerous because young people experiencing this injury could lead to fatal brain damage or loss of nerve function.
With this project, we desire to create a solution that will help decrease the risk of suffering a concussion during soccer matches, both on the recreational and professional levels. We have focuses on comfortability and the least possible effect on the mechanics of the sport. Our main goal for this product is to help create a low risk environment in which high school soccer athletes can enjoy the sport to its fullest.
