INSTANT CHALLENGE? WHAT'S THAT?
Instant challenge is... tough. ICs require quick, creative, and critical thinking - unachievable without teamwork and problem-solving skills. From task-based Instant Challenges to performance-based (or sometimes even a combination of both), all teams need to practice their IC skills during the year they face one at the tournament. Below are some sample ICs and resources that can help you practice your IC skills and prepare you for whats ahead!
Task-based ICs require you to build structures with the provided materials. Have your team managers gather the required materials and prepare the challenge!
Performance ICs oftentimes give you a prompt: teams have to create a short skit that accomplishes the given task, and are tested on their creativity!
Hybrid ICs combine both performance and task-based components. Teams will have to multitask to both build and brainstorm a story at the same time!
