Welcome to Calculator Vault & AppLock ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application ("App") handles user data, permission requirements, and security.
Our App is designed as an offline-first private app locker and security vault. It appears as a fully functional standard calculator (with optional caliper tool and weather display disguises), while a secure numeric passcode unlocks a hidden vault for private app lock configurations, intruder capture logging, and secret notes.
1. 100% Offline Architecture — Zero Server Collection
- No Server Storage: We do NOT collect, harvest, monitor, transmit, or share any personal data, files, photos, passwords, bookmarks, or secret notes.
- Completely On-Device: All private notes, intruder captures, locked app preferences, and passcode hashes are saved exclusively locally on your device within secure, platform-sandboxed databases (Room and encrypted SharedPreferences).
- No Analytics or Tracking: We do not use any analytics SDKs, crash reporting tools, or third-party tracking services that collect personal data.
- No Account Required: The App does not require user registration, login, or account creation.
2. Third-Party Services — Google AdMob
We integrate Google AdMob to display advertisements within the App. AdMob is a third-party ad network that may collect and process certain device information to serve relevant ads. Specifically:
- Data Collected by AdMob: Device identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID), IP address, device type, operating system version, and general location (not precise GPS).
- Purpose: To serve and measure the effectiveness of advertisements, prevent fraud, and comply with digital advertising standards.
- Opt-Out: You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized advertising at any time via your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
- Children's Privacy: We do not knowingly serve personalized ads to children under 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your region).

3. Explanation of Android Runtime Permissions
To deliver advanced lock and protection features, our App requests specific device permissions. Each permission is used exclusively on-device for its declared security feature and never for data collection:
A. Camera Permission (`android.permission.CAMERA`)
- Use Case: Intruder Detection & Picture Capture.
- Function: When an incorrect lock passcode/PIN is entered on a locked application or vault, the App uses the front-facing camera to capture a photo of the unauthorized user.
- Privacy Guarantee: Captured pictures are saved strictly in the App's secure private folder on-device. They are never transmitted off the device and can only be viewed or deleted by the authorized owner inside the unlocked vault.
B. Usage Stats Permission (`android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS`)
- Use Case: Real-time AppLock Detection.
- Function: This permission allows our local background service to monitor which application is currently in the foreground. If a locked package is opened, our App instantly displays the lock screen blocker.
- Privacy Guarantee: Foreground process checks are performed in real-time, in-memory only. No app usage histories, duration logs, or behavioral patterns are saved, stored, or transmitted.
C. Biometric Permission (`android.permission.USE_BIOMETRIC`)
- Use Case: Secure Stealth Vault Access.
- Function: Allows the user to trigger vault unlocking via device fingerprint or face unlock by long-pressing an inconspicuous icon.
- Privacy Guarantee: Authentication is processed entirely by the Android system's hardware-backed biometric framework. This application never accesses, reads, or stores your biometric credentials.
D. Device Admin Permission (`android.permission.BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN`)
- Use Case: App Hiding & Uninstall Protection.
- Function: Required to hide locked app icons from the launcher and prevent unauthorized uninstallation of the vault.
- Privacy Guarantee: The App only uses this policy for the lock/hide feature. No device-wide administrative actions are performed.
E. Accessibility Service (`android.permission.BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE`)
- Use Case: Automatic App Locking.
- Function: Detects when a locked app is opened and automatically shows the lock screen.
- Privacy Guarantee: The service only reads the currently focused package name. No screen content, keystrokes, or sensitive data is read, stored, or transmitted.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
- Retention Period: All locally stored data (notes, intruder photos, lock configurations) remains on your device until you explicitly delete it within the App or uninstall the App.
- Deletion on Uninstall: When the App is uninstalled, all locally stored data is permanently deleted along with the App. We have no ability to recover this data.
- Manual Deletion: Users can delete individual notes, clear intruder logs, and reset all settings directly from the App's settings menu.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- Encrypted Storage: Passcode hashes and sensitive preferences are stored using Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences (AES-256).
- Sandboxed Database: All notes and photo metadata are stored in a Room database within the App's private sandboxed directory.
- No Network Transmission: By design, sensitive data never leaves your device, eliminating the risk of network-based data breaches.
- Biometric Gate: Vault access can be additionally secured by device biometric authentication.
6. Children's Privacy & Family Compliance
- Our App is fully compliant with Google Play Families Policy, COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act), and GDPR-K requirements.
- Since our App does not collect personal data, distribute user location, transmit audio/video, or permit direct online interaction, it offers a fully secure offline utility suitable for all users.
- We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13 (or the applicable age of consent).
- Ad Content: AdMob may display ads that are not personalized for children. We recommend using the App in a supervised environment for younger users.
7. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and Other Jurisdictions)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Right to Access: Since no data is collected by us, there is nothing to access. All your data is on your device.
- Right to Deletion: You can delete all App data by clearing App storage or uninstalling the App.
- Right to Opt-Out of Advertising: You can opt out of personalized advertising via your device's Advertising ID settings.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: We do not treat users differently based on their exercise of privacy rights.
