AHG Regional Summer Camp was a blast!
AHG Girls from from all over the region spent the week together forming friendships and earning badges in archery, outdoor skills, pen & paper arts, swimming and space exploration! Special thanks to Leaders Cindy Pulliam, Jo Ann Ward, Patty Aranibar and Jessica Watkins!
May Court of Awards Ceremony
Congratulations to all girl members who received awards for service and badges earned this year at our Ceremony May 20! It was a blessing to hear which of our Creed words each girl exemplified most this year with her Leaders. Have a wonderful summer and look for the Summer Picnic and Pool Party invitation in July!

Please read this important note about achievements to be recognized May 20:
As we near the end of the year, it's a time for girls to consider what achievements they want to be recognized for at our end of year ceremony. Parents, please connect with your daughter about this - April 23 is deadline for badgework, service hours and Level Award requirements (please see Girl Handbook) to be recognized at May 20 Evening Award Ceremony . Be sure to email/text Leaders to draw their attention to any badge requirements or service you log in the Handbook.
- Parents may document badge requirements met with parent's date and initials, then alert leaders with a note on the handbook AND text/email. Girls do the requirements that have a picture of their specific uniform, PLUS 1 additional requirement of girls' choice for Tenderhearts, 2 additional for Explorers and 3 additional for PiPas.
- Girls will receive service stars at award ceremonies based on the total hours she serves those outside her own home. Parents may document service time (with date & initials) on Handbook page 70. Please alert her leaders with a text or email.
Mother-Daughter Cake Decorating Event was a SWEET TREAT!
Jennifer Calvert of Bake My Day led AHGirls and moms in a super FUN cake decorating event and our cakes looked amazing! Also tasted wonderful. Thank you Kristin Middleton and volunteer moms! Click here for more photos!
Father-Daughter Indoor Rock Climbing Event was a blast!
30 dads and daughters free-climbed bouldering walls and used harnesses and ropes to climb 30' walls at RockSport Climbing Gym. Call them to learn about Saturday morning climbing for kids at (502) 266-5833. And check out these pictures!
Meetings: 2nd & 4th Tuesdays through April 28! Click here for CALENDAR. Please note the Court of Awards will be the evening of May 7.
UNIFORMS & INSIGNIA
- Please see Girl Handbook page 26 for correct placement of all insignia. New girls received their Joining Awards at January 8 ceremony and all will receive badges, service stars and level awards earned by April 9 at the Court of Awards Ceremony May 7.
- The Joining Award goes at top left if you earned the Level Award prior to your current level; otherwise it goes in middle of badges at bottom left, where badges are placed like a flower.
- Patches, Troop #s (we are KY #0252) & badges must be sewn on or attached with Badge Magic. All other known options fail and badges are lost. Lincoln Trail Boy Scouts at 12001 Sycamore Station Place will sew them for $4 per patch or number set. Or you may purchase Badge Magic for $6/sheet by emailing AHGCAL@gmail.com.
- Please encourage LOYALTY and RESPONSIBILITY by having your daughter wear her full uniform at meetings.

CAL Dad Lt. Col. Kevin Krauss thanked our girls for the care packages we packed and sent to the Middle East for his 2500 service men and women last year. His slide show and Q & A were a HUGE blessing!
Certificate provided to our Troop with Marine Corps American Flag.
It's an honor to receive such a special gift! Our girls and leaders so enjoyed collecting items and making cards for the Marines last year. The experience of doing this together led to the creation of our Tribes.
AHG = CONNECTIONS
through grade-specific SQUADS
and also family-style TRIBES.
Spearheaded by Leaders Heather Gregory and Andrea Wyndham, our oldest AHGirls lead their Tribe Meetings which occur during one meeting per month. This is an opportunity for girls to make connections with older and younger girls while practicing leading others and being a godly friend.
Tribes include the Cherokee, Iroquois, Navajo and Sioux. Each have created their own war paint and chant:-) Their time together will include teaching badge requirements (Native American, Home Care & Repair and Zoology), fun games and songs.
