Hello! My name is CAI Qiuyun.
I'm currently an M.Phil. and PhD student in the Department of Early Childhood Education at the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), under the supervision of Dr. Cathy FONG Yui Chi.
Before this, I worked as a research assistant at the Department of Linguistics and Translation at the City University of Hong Kong (CityU), supervised by Dr. Ziyin MAI Maggie.
I graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) with an M.A. in Chinese Linguistics and Language Acquisition and from the Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) with a B.A. in English Language and Literature. I used to serve as a research assistant at the CUHK from 2019.09 to 2021.12, working with Prof. Virginia YIP and Dr. Ziyin MAI Maggie.
I'm interested in parent-child interaction, shared book reading, and parental questioning, early language and cognitive development of kindergarten-aged children, and first and second language acquisition.
I grew up in Guangdong Province, speaking Cantonese, Mandarin, English, and Hakka.
