Photographer, reader, moviegoer, part-time builder, full-time father. Brazilian, living in New York.
Lately I've been trying to spend less time consuming and more time making: taking photos, building small things, picking up code along the way.
This site is part of that.
I grew up in São Paulo, did a law degree at the University of São Paulo, an MBA at MIT Sloan, and have lived in a few places since - Boston, San Diego, Miami, and now New York.
My career has been kind of all over the place: law school, then consulting at McKinsey for almost ten years, and now working in tech. The common thread is that I keep ending up at the intersection of business and technology, figuring out how to make things work.
What I've learned about myself is that I'm happiest when I'm working closely with people who build things and helping translate between the technical and the business side. I like being in the room where something is actually getting made. Even better when I get to build it myself. I've been spending more time writing code and building internal tools, which is exactly the kind of work I wanted to do more of.
Outside of work, I try to read a lot of what survived for a reason, I take photos and I'm picking up guitar again, mostly because I think my daughter will enjoy listening to it.
