Improv is a type of performance where everything is completely made up on the spot! There are no scripts, no preplanned characters, no story or dialogue. Many times it is comedic, but it can also be quite serious. Either way, it is almost always based on the audience's suggestions or prompts. Improv is all about creativity, quick thinking, teamwork, and staying in the moment. There are many types of improv: short form improv (this is what we mainly focus on), long form improv, improvisational plays, improvational music, and so much more! Every show is unique, and the most important rule is the spirit of "Yes, and…", meaning participants accept what’s happening and add to it, keeping the scene moving forward collaboratively.
